I think Carlos Marcello was a central figure in the assassination of JFK. One of best courses I took in undergrad.

Honestly, I just went down the YouTube rabbit hole about this just last night. Pretty unbelievable how all of that stuff can be connected. I had no idea that he lived in Metairie!

The CIA didn't do, they would have f'ed it up and someone would have talked by now. Cuba likely didn't have the capability. That leaves the mob and/or the Israelis.

What he said in prison was enough to get the FBI to re open the JFK investigation. They went and interviewed him and he had enough of his marbles to not talk to them

I used to love the old timer stories I would hear from my grandfather. One of them was that Marcello had a jar with pieces of JFK’s brains in it on his desk

With an assist from the CIA….or by the CIA with an assist from Marcelo/mob. Either way, some kind of combo of the 2 were responsible IMO.

Marcelo probably had a hand in it. He and Santo Trafficante from Florida.
Florida's mob was tied to Cuban casinos. New Orleans' was tied to the fruit trade from Cuba. Those two operations got completely shut down because of JFK. It was a "just business" response as far as Marcelo and Trafficante were concerned.
They also happened to know a guy named Lee Harvey Oswald.
