Honestly while i was watching the show, I told my wife that all the contestants last night seemed like actors. She said she was from Culver City, CA which is where Wheel of Fortune is filmed as well as other shows (The Office for example). Even the other contestant in the middle seemed a little too “cool and calm” like he was playing a hipster. They just didn’t seem like genuine folks.
Also to note, this week was the first tapings without a live studio audience due to COVID. You can tell when they show their family at the end, they are on set instead of in the crowd, because there is no crowd. They used a shot of an old audience at the beginning. Keep an eye on it all this week and next week too. Then they stopped filming altogether after that.

I think that's pretty common. I have a friend who was on wheel of fortune and a few other game shows.
She wrecked shop on Wheel of Fortune. Won like $90k before taxes, a car, vacation, and I think a few other things.
She only had 2 letters on the bonus round and looked impossible to solve, and still got it. Pat Sajak's response was "how'd you do that?" when she solved it.
