I dont know where the heck it came from. But I remember as a small child fully believing that Santa Clause and Jesus were brothers, but then being confused when kids in kindergarten had no idea what I was talking about. I don't know where that idea came from. I figured it was just a story that I got from someone or somewhere else. I'm not sure if I saw it in a movie. Or if one of my cousins said it, kids from church etc.

My parents nor my brother have no memory of this story at all. So now I'm left wondering if I just imagined all of this in my head.

Santa Claus was created in the 19th Century. The idea of Christmas was first invented by Roman Pagans with the festival of Saturnalia (worship of the God Saturn) which Christians later stole the idea from to create Christmas and to appeal to Pagans. Jesus was not born on December 25.

Are you going to post this in every thread?

Do you also take it upon yourself to tell small children Santa isn’t real?

Most adults know the true origins, but being a spoilsport takes away a lot of the enjoyment of the season.

Whatever dude. I guess next you're going to tell me that Jesus didn't die on a cross on some random Sunday between March and April.

Seeing that Passover was a well established Jewish holiday and the Last Supper they celebrated was a Passover meal, that one is pretty accurate.

Never thought about them as brothers but it makes some sense.

They both are at the forefront of the greatest time of the year and encourage people to get rewarded for good behavior.

As a kid, I certainly thought they hung out together and would be friendly since both were good guys.

It's normal as a kid to fill in blanks and connect dots like that. Especially when you're sorting out good guys and bad guys and teams and stuff.

I always suspected that this was the point of Santa Claus, like it was designed to prepare people's minds to "evolve" past religion.

If so, the jokes on them. Muzzies are multiplying.
