Did any meteorologist predict this much rain? Who has flooded already?

Yes, some did. Those areas shown as white on the map were representing 6+ inches.

Weather Underground had Baton Rouge getting 4.5” yesterday, which I would believe.

And just like that, Southeast Louisiana’s drought was solved. Thank you, God.

It’s one thing to misread; it’s another thing to, presumably intentionally, truncate a quote in order to misread

Check out Neptune Insurance. Waaay cheaper than FEMA and better coverage. Literally half the price of my FEMA policy.

Not really, no. Getting 8” of rain over a couple of days has significantly less value than getting 8” of rain over a couple of weeks. The majority of the rain we are getting is going into drains, not soaking into the ground, because the ground is already saturated. Probably somewhere in the 2”-3” range is actually “useful” in this storm.

Yes really. We were drenched last weekend and have gotten saturated this weekend. This is how droughts are ended. This isn’t to say we won’t go back into drought conditions but for right now the last 2 weekends have totally wiped out drought conditions in Southeast Louisiana.

Since it is seems to be going over y'alls heads, I'll translate and say the poster was making a dick joke.

I'm not saying it was the best dick joke but it clearly was a dick joke.

Bring back the Drought Monitor.

The "Weather" people were absolutely clueless on this system. During the week, they were saying, "It won't be as bad as last weekend".

It is.

Then, last night they said, "Saturday won't be as bad as today".

It is.

I'm sure tonight they will say, "Tomorrow won't be as bad as today".

Stay tuned.

It looks like it will be like this until Monday Night, when the "cold front' finally passes through. (The front that the Weather people said was going to pass Saturday Afternoon or night during the week)

They have all these models and are still wrong almost everytime there is a stalled front or a warm front that backs up. It is amazing.
