Based on the quality of responses so far, I think the answer to OP's question is "quite possibly."

Yes. It was announced that $2.2 trillion was unaccounted for. Not sure about the records being destroyed.
If it’s not absolutely clear to anyone by now, the gov’t and it’s contracts are a way of laundering $$$ from politicians to their friends/family. From local to national, it’s all about the $$$. No more, no less.
Trump has blown their collective (rep/dem) cover.

Try 21 trillion... (at least)

Has Our Government Spent $21 Trillion Of Our Money Without Telling Us?

The July 2016 report is not the only such report of unsubstantiated adjustments. Mark Skidmore and Catherine Austin Fitts, former Assistant Secretary of Housing and Urban Development, conducted a search of government websites and found similar reports dating back to 1998. While the documents are incomplete, original government sources indicate $21 trillion in unsupported adjustments have been reported for the Department of Defense and the Department of Housing and Urban Development for the years 1998-2015.

My opinion, the money has been funneled into a black project space program /off world assets/bases. For those who think I am nuts:

Steven L. Kwast is a retired Air Force general and former commander of the Air Education and Training Command at Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph. A graduate of the United States Air Force Academy with a degree in astronautical engineering, he holds a master’s degree in public policy from Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government. He is a past president of the Air Force’s Air University in Montgomery, Alabama, and a former fighter pilot with extensive combat and command experience. He is the author of the study, “Fast Space: Leveraging Ultra Low-Cost Space Access for 21st Century Challenges.” Beginning in 2010, and coinciding with the opening of Hillsdale College’s Allan P. Kirby, Jr. Center for Constitutional Studies and Citizenship on Capitol Hill, the College has hosted an annual Constitution Day Celebration in Washington, D.C. to commemorate the signing of the U.S. Constitution on September 17, 1787. The program—which features speeches, debates, and roundtable discussions—explores the continuing relevance of the Founders’ Constitution for American politics today. Hillsdale College is an independent institution of higher learning founded in 1844 by men and women “grateful to God for the inestimable blessings” resulting from civil and religious liberty and “believing that the diffusion of learning is essential to the perpetuity of these blessings.” It pursues the stated object of the founders: “to furnish all persons who wish, irrespective of nation, color, or sex, a literary, scientific, [and] theological education” outstanding among American colleges “and to combine with this such moral and social instruction as will best develop the minds and improve the hearts of its pupils.” As a nonsectarian Christian institution, Hillsdale College maintains “by precept and example” the immemorial teachings and practices of the Christian faith. The College also considers itself a trustee of our Western philosophical and theological inheritance tracing to Athens and Jerusalem, a heritage finding its clearest expression in the American experiment of self-government under law. By training the young in the liberal arts, Hillsdale College prepares students to become leaders worthy of that legacy. By encouraging the scholarship of its faculty, it contributes to the preservation of that legacy for future generations. By publicly defending that legacy, it enlists the aid of other friends of free civilization and thus secures the conditions of its own survival and independence.

Barrett, Rogers consider declassifying secretive space programs

By: Nathan Strout 5 days ago

quote:

SIMI VALLEY, California — The U.S. Air Force’s top civilian and a key member of Congress agreed Saturday on the need to declassify a large amount of information about America’s military space programs to both intimidate foes and encourage support among the public.

“Declassifying some of what is currently held in secure vaults would be a good idea,” Air Force Secretary Barbara Barrett said during a panel at the Reagan National Defense Forum. “You would have to be careful about what we declassify, but there is much more classified than what needs to be.”

Fellow panelist Rep. Mike Rogers, R-Ala., said he met with the secretary earlier in the week to discuss that very issue, calling the information on space programs “overwhelmingly classified.”

quote:

For Rogers, that overclassification is one of the reasons it’s been so difficult for him and others to build support both in the public and with other members of Congress for a Space Force, a sixth branch of the military under the Air Force uniquely focused on space as a war-fighting domain.

quote:

Once Americans have access to that currently classified data, they will throw their support behind a Space Force, he concluded.

It "officially" went missing prior to the audit of '01 and then a "plane" just happened to crash into the accounting department of the pentagon the day after an audit is announced

I would suspect that it is all gone.

Why would we even need it?

Our currency is no longer tied to gold.

Once hyper inflation starts kicking in we could be in for a rude awakening. It may be time to reintroduce 500 and 1,000 dollar bills.

In fairness 2.2 trillion goes missing in all areas of government pretty regularly. If it happened at any other time we could have the same conspiracy

Yep, him being 100% blatant about using his position to line his pockets and prop up his business has helped shed the light to people who wanted to be blind - in addition to the more established political con artists flailing and exposing themselves due to their hatred of trump
