I see all the down votes but I flew out last week and my gate changed 3 times from midnight to the flight. My Uber driver told me sometimes they change the terminal! I like the airport though other than this.

Is there any way to get to the terminal from the service road?
Just pay the $2 and stfu. Thank you for your contributions to DFW.

This is why you check your app before leaving to go to the airport.
AA has an app. I have had that happen to me the morning of and no issues.
That’s a noob move.

As someone who lives in DFW and flies in and out of DFW regularly, it is a fantastic airport when you compare it to its peers (not Love field). Parking shuttles are quick, security checkpoints are even quicker, and the lounge/food options inside are plentiful.
Oh, and no matter what the “local” tells you, you can’t get to the terminals without going through the toll booth (or parking outside of it and riding a shuttle in).

DFW Airport used to have electronic message boards showing drivers gate assignments. They took them down after too many rear-end wrecks.
One time I had to piss real bad and was in a hurry so I opened the car door as I was driving through one of the curly Q access routes and pissed out the side. Got a thumbs up from the car behind me.

They sent me the updates each time. The problem is they could do it after Uber drops you off and you have to take the tram to another terminal. Not a noob, but thanks

The reason they do it is because it's a shortcut in the interstate system. If it weren't for that toll, then the DFW airport access would be the worst in the country.
This. Back when I lived there that's how I used it too, it's only $2 and traffic was much lighter.

There is a service road that is free but it is only for passing through the airport. It doesnt connect to the terminals.

My only observation of DFW is when you land far away from the terminal and drive for 20 minutes to the gate.

Yeah it help keeps the airport rated in the top five of the country.
I'd like to see a source for this. I read all the time about DFW being among the worst airport experiences in the country.
