JD Power survey has it ranked higher than the only 3 airports who have more passengers/flights (ATL, ORD, LAX). Its #8 for satisfaction among “mega” US airports. I don’t know where the other poster got top 5 of anything (other than passengers/flights) but like I said earlier, compared to its peers, it’s a great airport.

hate DFW. I fly out of there all the time. I would just rather use Love field if given a choice.

I prefer Love Field because its close to me, but I have never had an issue at DFW. Its easy enough to get there from East Dallas and check-in/security is always smooth.

It's for parking idiot, you drive in and park, fly to Montana and fish, then drive out.

They charge you a per day fee $7-$8

shouldve recorded and started a thread

It caught the corner of my eye when the plane was boarding with it being written down at the bottom of the screen and only heard the last 5 or so seconds of it when I immediately put in my headphones to hear the nonsense that was being spewed. It was ridiculous. Surely to God no one looks across the cubicle from them thinking they're being paid 20% more than their coworkers due to having a penis.

My only observation of DFW is when you land far away from the terminal and drive for 20 minutes to the gate.

I mean, the airport itself is larger than Manhattan, so it makes sense.

And here's another report putting DFW as the 8th worst airport in the country. Of the 10 airports listed as the worst, DFW is the only one I frequent so there's where my opinion that it really sucks comes from.

DFW is great if you live in Dallas and know how to use it

It's a PITA for the infrequent traveler through there

When flying to Oregon, flying thru DFW or IAH makes the flight an all-day event. I fly Delta, whose hub is in Atlanta. I have not had a late takeoff or arrival since and I actually get to PDX at a decent hour.

a little more than that

"It's a PITA for the infrequent traveler through there"

dfw is about as user friendly an airport as you'll find, people say it's a PITA because they don't pay attention, and/or being in an unfamiliar environment makes them uneasy

btw: you could take a date to terminal D

The half moon terminals mean you can drop off someone right at their gate no matter where it is.

Try that in Atlanta for example.

The train around the top means you are no more than 20 minutes from anywhere else in the airport.

I don't even check my gate, just ride the train if I don't guess right.

I flew out of somewhere a couple of years ago, maybe Vilnius. Lithuania.....when we left the gate the pilot warned us it would be over a 20 minute taxi to the runway and then we would have to wait in line to takeoff. Took about 30 minutes total to get in the air.

and that is factored into the schedule, no airliner has ever taken off from the gate

but what are you sayin'? it's one of the busiest airports in the world, similar to saying, " I live about an hour from LAX" "oh, so you're about five miles from the airport?"

Well sure, but you don't expect to taxi for that long at most airports.....actually, I think it was Amsterdam.

yes you do, big airports have multiple runways, and they are assigned based on instrument departures that are part of their flight plans and current weather, it's a pretty smooth system normally, certain factors can disrupt it but it's a good system given the magnitude of the operation
