True. Now it's don't update to the newest iOS so you don't catch Apple's new bug to ruin your phone and make you get the new one.

it was true for batteries in the early 00's
new battery and phone OS tech have essentially eliminated the need to fully cycle the cells

LSUPD emergency message states the Quad area is still under investigation.
I’ve seen better looking investigations in the Quad

Why are you giving the WTF gif to my response? I sympathized with and asked someone to clarify what his son on campus heard- whether he heard shots himself or whether he heard from other people shots were fired.
You then called me a latte drinking cat petting snowflake. And now you give me the WTF gif for calling you out on your rude immature bratty behavior?
We all saw the result of incompetent law enforcement in Parkland, Florida.
Insinuating people are absurd for taking a situation like this seriously is immature. Especially when the people taking it seriously had children there and were posting here while the situation was still ongoing, and especially when some of those children said they heard shots fired.
Several students on campus were texted that and were texting that back to their parents. I now realize that text sent to them must have been a prank. But for you to act as though that shouldn’t be concerning to a parent while police were still saying the situation was not yet resolved is asinine. If parents shouldn’t worry when their kids text them shots are fired on a campus on lockdown then when exactly should a parent worry?
Imagine if it was an active shooter and law enforcement stood outside and did nothing just so they didn’t look like “snowflakes overreacting” for people as cool as you.
Again, we all saw the result of officers’ incompetence in Parkland, FL. It was a disgrace.

That’s the parade grounds
The quad is like a really big courtyard surrounded by the library on one side and buildings/classrooms on the other sides

WAFB just said it was an off duty officer

i work in Coates. A colleague of mine ran into a man in dress clothes inside Coates Hall while she was evacuating and he had a pistol in a holster. He told her he thought the police were called on him or the person was looking for him. He was in a DA training on campus #LSU

So what/who was the threat?

They brought some professional security guy that went way overboard. He was telling us shite like he never sits in public space without an exit plan. And he always has to be facing the door so he can access each individual walking in as a threat or not
So tell me the last time that one of these mass shooting nutcases broadcast ahead of time where they were headed and what they were planning on doing?
Point is... they don’t. You NEVER know when something like that can happen.
But by all means, don’t listen or heed the PROFESSIONAL SECURITY guys info.... I mean what could HE possibly know right?
His info was great advice and should be heeded by all. ......because you never know...

If serious, seek medication immediately

Yes and no. I once thought all conspiracy theories were for crackpots and fools.
I then saw a camera cut to a father whose son was just murdered. He was laughing and cutting up. When someone pointed out he was on camera he realized he messed up.
Maybe, just maybe, it isn't always black and white.

Was the off duty officer wearing a shield in plain view with his holster?
Was the off duty officer wearing any department insignia or a departmental polo style shirt identifying himself as law enforcement?
If so, the colleague that reported the “man with a gun” should be terminated.

There were 373 deaths and ~1300 wounded from mass shootings in 2018.
That is ~1 in every 1 million people in the USA died in 2018 from a mass shooting.
37,000 people die in car crashes in the USA every year.
That is 100x more likely.
Do you freak out at every moment when you are driving?
Hopefully not, because that would be insane.
The odds are no where near being against you.
