Disaster management officials in Shizuoka prefecture in central Japan say the mudslide occurred Saturday morning in Atami, a town known for hot springs.

At least 19 people are unaccounted for and rescue workers are searching for them, officials said.

Japan seems like a wonderful place to visit. Different. More than Germany or Italy. I can’t think of a country that has been more open and welcoming. I wish for them the best.

Landslide

ETA: Before the dv’s ensue, yes it’s a terrible situation and I can’t imagine going through something like that. I do feel bad for them and every region has some sort of natural disaster they must deal with. Nonetheless it’s a great song

Beautiful area. Shame this happened.

I guess I was young and naive but the only thing I ever worried about was earthquakes while living there.

Pretty impressive those buildings weren’t wiped out. Meanwhile our buildings are just falling the frick down on their own
