Didn't realize the Asian % was so low. Feels like there's a lot more than 3%. LINK

Looks like Orleans Parish is well on its way to Gentrification in the next 100 years.

Looking at the US breakdown, in 10 more years can we claim minority status? I can't wait to bitch about oppression and keeping the minority down.

Unfortunately, it's mostly liberal carpetbaggers gentrifying the city so the same old politicians will continue to get elected and the cycle will continue.

What is interesting is the growth rate of the Hispanic population. The overall in about 9%, but since 2000 it has grown by 50% or more. I suspect by 2030 they will be greater than 20% of the metro area and may end up vying for control of Jefferson where the population is at 15%

This- when you see where it has doubled in Jefferson over such a short period of time...the times are a changin'

Parts of Kenner and the Westbank look like little Hispanic cities. Markets and restaurants everywhere.

They have their bad apples, but overall they keep to themselves and are hard workers.

This.

And as far as the east bank of JP goes, they aren't about to take over much of anything in Metaire other than the apartment complexes.

Old Metairie and probably Bucktown area, true. Rest of Metairie eastbank definitely not true, don't know if you've seen some of those neighborhoods between airline, causeway, clearview, and vets lately.

It is mostly a good thing for JP.
