There is a cow pasture about a mile up the road from me, and a tomato/blueberry farm even closer.

Give it a year and it will be McMansions. Farragut proper is unrecognizable from just a few years ago.

I miss the old Regal Cinemas where the big food city is now. Had lots of fun nights working there.

Ideally it'd be awesome to get a couple more years experience under my belt and head out to Colorado for an environmental consultant firm.

June 1974 moved to BR from NJ. All my stuff in a 67 2 door Impala with a black vinyl top and no A/C. 45 rpm records on the floorboards warped by the time I got to BR. Starter went out in Tuscaloosa. Got an apt at El Cid. A/C was out for the first few days. Been in LA ever since

My is very simple. I got a 30% job offer over what I was making in NOLA. Ten years later now with a wife and 2 kids, I am still in the DFW area. Only regret is there is a small chance my daugher will be. Cowboys fan. My boy is a huge Saints fan so that one is good.

Intervention is an option and occasionally successful.

When I read that I was picturing Forrest Gump on the bench at a bus stop.

Are you an alter for that PNW poster who was the Montana version of Nurse?

He was a Park/Fedgov worker as well.

He also vanished a year ago or so without a trace.

You have similar posting tendencies.

Eta: I see you joined TD in 2019, so you probably are the poster formerly known as PNW.

Welcome back!

One morning a stranger pulled into my parents driveway and I hopped into the car. After a couple hours he bought me a bus ticket and I jumped on a bus.

Later on that same evening some dude cut off all my hair, handed me a bag full of clothes that didn't fit, then a bunch of a-holes started screaming at me for 3 months.

After nearing the end of my first summer in Knoxville, I can say that the temps are slightly milder than in Baton Rouge. The main difference is that it does get cooler at night which makes the late evenings and early mornings much more pleasant. It's still hot as balls during the middle of the day... supposed to be up to 96 or so today.
