Wawa would a nurse know? Someone said there’s a nurse on the jury.
Absolutely. Nurses count respirations more than doctors do. Hopefully that nurse isn’t already biased.

Woah, if I can make sense in talking to someone that means I'm not intoxicated according to this witness? Sweet.

Prosecutor gets his arse kicked yesterday and you're a No Show. Glimmer of hope and you're back spewing your bullshite.

Do bad or impure drugs make a difference how your body responds?

This is the problem. Your bullshite meter is going off but his “expert” status makes you think there is something he knows that you don’t.
There’s nothing extra that he knows. He’s full of shite.
I completely agree but at the same time that's why subject matter experts and expert witnesses matter. We tend to listen to them because they have that education/experience we don't. All-in-all this has been a win for the prosecution today but Nelson pulled it back a bit at the end there.

That doctor might have sounded impressive to someone without medical knowledge, but to those of us who understand physiology is was a complete joke.
The doctor actually came across as a paid and bought witness. The man was never involved with the case, wasn't involved in the autopsy and we're supposed to believe he got all this from watching videos and guesstimating.

Yea Nelson doesn’t have the knowledge to go toe to toe with the medical expert like he could with the police officers.
Hopefully all the bullshite is exposed when the defense calls their medical expert

Floyd was buying pills thinking they were a different drug then what he got. Tells me his tolerance is built up on a different drug he likes not the fentanyl he took.

I can’t help but wonder if the thread’s skepticism of expert witnesses will shift when the defense starts calling their witnesses.

It honestly doesn’t matter, the defense will call experts that rebuke everything these experts say. So when the jury hears two conflicting sides from supposed experts it’s going to register as doubt.

its hilarious. any facts that disprove those posters purely emotional perspective must be lying on behalf of the prosecution and is a liberal to boot.

Ever done BJJ? I’ve been in a rear naked choke and still been able to talk, although slowly. Breathing slows. Lights start going out. Then I would tap. If you hold the choke, you cut off oxygen. From what I have gathered, Chauvin just kept applying a choke with his knee. Y’all think y’all can put a man on his stomach and a knee to the neck, and have two other dudes holding you down. I don’t see how anyone survives that.
I wonder if any BJJ or MMA guys have commented on this. Maybe they have a better understanding.

When is the court deciding if the drug dealer can testify

Congratulations, you have discovered how court cases work in the United States of America. It’s a pretty good system.

why do you think this will matter? the drugs in GF's system were not at fatal levels.

You’re a little late to the party, it has be shown in court his knee wasn’t on his neck. It was on his shoulder blade.

Yea if that were the case his drug dealer buddy wouldn’t need to plead the fifth then in fear of a third degree murder charge right? Since the drugs clearly didn’t kill him

No whats hilarious is you disappearing when the prosecution has a bad day and only when they have a decent day do you climb out from under your rock and start bullshite slinging again.

ah yes. Several key points were made confirming several facts I have pointed out although this will undoubtedly upset many posters who react with pure emotion.
1) confirmed drug levels were relatively LOW. they were well below expected amounts for lethality, and they were not significant for GF death. GF was not exhibiting signs of opioid induced respiratory depression. GF Avg levels were well below all-cause deaths with fentanyl onboard. Even at higher 16ng/ml avg level in deaths, people also died of causes other than fentanyl (like homicide), which means you would expect levels even higher to be survivable.
2) confirmed pre-existing conditions were not significant for GF death. there was not a lethal level of coronary vessel obstruction, no evidence supporting a heart attack.
3) confirmed there was asphyxiation due to subdual and restraint was significant to GF death.
4) confirmed asphyxia does not require signs of life threatening injury. In the circumstances of the case you would not expect to see the life-threatening injuries.
5) there was no excited delirium.
