I agree with everything you say here. And I will add to it by bringing my opinion to the legal side of it. If the tox report says he had a lethal amount of fentanyl (even though that means for a normal person), it at the very least creates reasonable doubt, in that it is possible that the drugs killed him, not DC. And that's all the defense needs.
This.
Of course, this assumes the jury will do the right thing (or that the judge will if the jury doesn't)

Why are people down-voting the idea that when you are accused of killing a black man in your supposed racist hatred of blacks it is only smart to have a black person defending you?
That’s Racially-charged Trial 101.

I think he’s done a great job with this trial. He seems very reasonable and balanced.

Is there any particular reason he appears to be going at this solo?

Prosecution said they sent it, defense said they didnt get it, and here we are. Not sure exactly what is coming up though.

He was going off of a previous version after receiving an updated copy. It was a mistake, but I don’t think it was a huge blunder or anything. Just a slightly embarrassing oversight on his part.
No reason for either side to make a big deal out of it.

I thought I read he had some help, from other lawyers, behind the scenes but he is the only one actually working the trial. I prefer him being the face of the defense and not the constant jumping back and forth between who is questioning which witness but if he is doing the preparation all by himself as well then eventually he is going to get worn down over the course of the trial.

Maybe, but it does harm his ongoing questioning of this witness since he prepared for this based on an outdated version. Will it be a minor thing? Maybe but that remains to be seen.

I wonder if the prosecution stated that the slide had been updated in the email or whatever.
That would be common courtesy I would imagine.

No way the defense is forced to continue on such a big case with such a minor mistake from whoever it was.

He is. You don't go to a trial of this magnitude solo.
As an example, our litigation teams have an R1 attorney who's the face of the team, but there are quite a few associates and even other partners, along with administrative assistants, paralegals, litigation support staff, etc. all behind the scenes working on the case.

one’s tolerance to a certain drug absolutely goes up with consistent use, just like the guy that was posted about on here the other day that had like a .6 or something ungodly blood alcohol level and was driving around. A normal person would have been comatose at that level. Same with drugs, Kurt Cobain had like 4 times the lethal dose of heroin(for a normal person) in his blood when he shot himself. Now again I am not commenting on the case as a whole, I am not even saying he didn’t OD. I am saying that it’s not totally stupid or bizarre to suggest the levels in his blood wouldn’t affect him like they would a normal person if he was indeed a habitual user of the particular drug/drugs.
I understand what you're getting at and agree somewhat. But you have to bear in mind that that's how these people with high tolerance for drugs end up ODing and killing themselves.
They build that tolerance and keep upping their dose trying to emulate that first high from when they first started. They take more and more until their system/body cannot take it and things like the respiratory system ends up shutting down. Or they have a cardiac event because the heart just can't take the amount of drugs ingested and is overloaded.
They build these tolerances up to these drugs but that doesn't make them impervious to the effects of these very high doses you hear about. That's not even taking into account the cumulative damage of the high doses of drugs have on their bodies. It's also not taking into account the potentiating effects drugs have on one another. Opioids and benzos, for example, is a particularly dangerous combination since both drugs potentiate the effects of each other. With both being CNS depressants, anyone can see why that would be dangerous.
In the GF case he had meth and fentanyl in his system. And it has been proven in many studies that psycho stimulants, such as methamphetamine, certainly have potentiating effects on opioids.
