Wasn’t Maurice hall the star witness for the prosecution. I don’t get why you got to leave out the fact that drugs were in the car it’s a fact. It’s almost as if they don’t want jurors to know george Floyd was getting high before his arrest and it led to him dying

Doesn't that blow the State's claim out of the water that Chauvin is responsible for the death or are they only going to go after Hall if they don't get a 3rd degree murder conviction on Chauvin?

Hall (as in Maruice Hall) is the dealer that was in the car and sold GF those pills right? I thought he wasn't going to take the stand because he reversed course and said he'd take the fifth.

Exactly. I get that the State is leaving their options open but it just seems absurd at face value that they are trying to stop Hall's subpoena by the defense because he may be prosecuted for providing the drugs that caused an overdose. Either prosecute him or don't but don't try to stop his testimony on the grounds that he may be charged with a crime simply because it hurts your case against Chauvin. Especially since he was going to be one of the State's main witnesses.

That's what I'd like to know!!!!!!!!! The defense's case rests on this testimony as an alternative to Floyd's death. I can't believe not being able to present this to the jury!!!!

I think that the judge not allowing the defense to make Hall invoke the 5th will be a big issue if Chauvin gets convicted and he appeals.
