They just read part of the protocol that said after restraint a subject should be moved onto their side. In the bodycam video, one of the officers asks that and Chauvin chooses not to do that.

If that sticks, the prosecution might get a manslaughter conviction.

Going to be interesting to see how the defense responds with his statement that his knee should have been removed once restrained and cuffed.

this is the part that might earn DC a higher charge than manslaughter. he is no longer following protocol, and is ignoring his colleagues redirection attempts.

Pretty much what I'm thinking.

He was loudly verbalizing minutes before EMS arrived and still physically moving just before they arrived (less than a minute).

Obviously it’s an important part of trial procedures, but you end up hearing thirty minutes of fluff questions and then a relevant one finally gets asked and everything immediately shuts down as they take a sidebar.

He def. stopped at the end but yes, for the vast majority of it he was absolutely out of control.

There at the end, Chauvin probably could/should have relented the position or pressure.

But he was already screaming that he couldn’t breathe before anyone even touched him. So if he couldn’t breathe before they put him on the ground then the knee on the neck wasn’t the cause of him not being able to breathe.

So tell me, why couldn’t he breathe while he was in the back of the police car?

They just asked him if he thought it was too much force.

They're side barring now, he hasn't answered yet.

You folks need to slow down. I've been going through today's action and downvoting all AMS posts, but good grief....there are too many pages. I haven't even been able to read a single word.

You're going after the wrong guy. I've watched the video and I don't care what the maniac was yelling.

The Sargeant just said being ontop of someone in this position for too long can impact someone's breathing. Which is why they have a protocol to turn someone on their side.

Did you miss the entire positional asyphxia conversation?

And I'm not saying that is how he died or not, but it doesn't mean they're not going to think Chauvin made a poor decision.

Sorry I’m not trying to attack you.

Anyone can answer

Why couldn’t he breathe before anyone touched him and while he was in the back of the cop car and before he even was placed on the ground?
