Voters in Denver, Colorado made their city the first in the U.S. to decriminalize psychedelic mushrooms by approving a ballot measure on the issue on Tuesday.

quote:

Its provisions prohibit the city government from using any resources to impose criminal penalties against adults over 21 years of age for personal use and possession of psilocybin, the active ingredient in so-called "magic mushrooms."
Initiative 301 also specifies that going after people for the mushrooms is the city's “lowest law enforcement priority” and establishes a review panel to assess and report on the effects of the change by early 2021.

Meanwhile, Alabama is banning all forms of abortion.

The south is a fricking joke.

Less illegal vegetables and more illegal murder. Seems like a good week overall.

Really now?

Weird, I had no idea that states were empowered to override federal law.

Don’t you mean meanwhile Lafayette sheriff’s departments are seizing CBD oil shops?

And yes, the south is a fricking joke.

Good, no point in criminalizing a natural substance

Is this weird to anyone else that this cat thinks abortion restrictions make a place a shithole? What a bizarre metric

Good for Alabama because killing babies really isn’t a joke. If they would legalize pot and mushrooms then even better.

Huh? Several have done it in regard to legalizing recreational marijuana....

There’s a bill that was approved that will make it a felony for an Alabama doctor to perform an abortion unless it’s like rape or incest.

I think he’s more commenting on how the south allows religion to dictate policy and law, whenever that age is long gone. States that have legalized the substances are profiting from them and doing well financially.

Abortion isn’t a good hill to die on though. Killing a baby because you’re in college and like to get cumm’d inside should never be alright.

Agreed. However, there was a strong push to not allow exceptions for rape or incest. Thats just fricking crazy.
