I don’t have much outrage left. But I’ll try to be appropriately outraged about this if it pleases our overlords.

Trophy hunts like this are critical to the local economy, they discourage poaching, the locals protect the animals instead of killing them, and end up helping us to conserve the species.

According to WWF, the argali is legally protected by Mongolian law, and hunting it is banned.

I'm sure they don't have an agenda.
Since a 30-second Google inquiry about argali hunts references licenses issues by the government, I'd say the WWF is full of shite.

So, not threatened?

AS a hunter that only cares about food I could care less what other people do. I have my own set of morals and they have theirs.

Give me a doe over a buck any day. I haven't taken a buck in a decade in spite of seeing plenty of amazing racks. They taste like crap and you can't eat antlers . Deer are over populated here and taking does is whats needed.

Fun fact for the animals rights people. In my area more wildlife is killed by cars than hunters. Should we all ban cars you hypocrites?

So I’m supposed to believe this American is out hunting in Mongolia and carrying around British pounds?

And I’m the idiot?

Is that even considered hunting if you're taken to the ram's location?

What’s the point of hunting if you can’t eat it?

It's only newsworthy because of who did it, and his previous entry into the news. People go over there every year and hunt argali, and none of them end up in the news.

This is only because the guy ended up in the news before for killing a lion that no one in Zimbabwe even cared or knew about until foreign news agencies made a deal of it.

Yes...just because it is legal, doesn’t mean it is a smart thing to do. He could very well be ruined if he continues to make decisions like this. Can you imagine the duck/deer lease you could get for that kind of money?

You have no idea WTF you are talking about. A bow hunt of a Ram in upper Mongolia is not an easy task or one to be taken lightly.

By people that don't know how to mind their own business. You could say this for any hunter. Yeah, me hunting white-tailed deer isn't as controversial as lions or Mongolian sheep, but PETA and other anti-hunting groups don't really make that distinction.

The only difference is they can pander to the non-hunting public that is largely indifferent to North American wildlife being hunted, but sees Simba or Mufasa in Cecil, and looks down upon anyone hunting a "rare" sheep.
A "rare" sheep, mind you, that is supposedly protected by a "prohibition" on hunting to boot.

All those soccer mom animal rights activists are hypocrites. Guaranteed every single one of them has an exterminator come to their houses in their gated community on a regular basis. They only care about cute, pretty animals with big brown eyes.

I have plenty of outrage for this. No respect for the planet or the animals on it. I am a proponent of guns and responsible hunting, in a sustainable manner. This arse frick thinks he is above the rest of the world who are trying to protect these species. frick this cock smoker.

So, give up on things we enjoy because some will say mean things? I love deer and duck hunting, and have no desire for big game/dangerous game hunting. But damn if anyone should be able to shame me into doing something I don't want to do.
