Were they also selling holidays in Cambodia?
Cambodia is probably safer than Brandywine.

This is a great thing for that area up near Choctaw. There are a lot of working class blacks that own homes near there. These old dilapidated buildings were attracting homeless and were a pretty big fire hazard.
Even knowing that they will be replaced with more subsidized housing that will inevitably decline.....it's still a net gain to get those things demolished. It had turned into a public safety hazard and was immediately adjacent to at least one school.

Those apartments were rough. Hopefully that property can finally turn into something useful for society. Rebuilding another Section 8 apartment there is a waste, if they do that. With a new charter school nearby, we should try to make the immediate area around campus much safer.
I went to school right next door at St. Louis King of France, and the inhabitants of Brandywine certainly kept things interesting. We had way more actual, serious lockdowns than fire drills. I just assumed that was normal until I went to high school.
It was a pretty common occurrence for guys in the apartments to hang out on the balcony with guns out. When I was in 7th grade, one guy hopped the fence while fleeing from the police and got apprehended right in the main school hallway during my afternoon science class.
We’d play kickball at recess and see guys on the other side of the fence selling drugs and robbing the convenience store on the other side of N. Sherwood Forest Blvd.

Seems like a bit of a waste...

But will they have back-splash and an open floor plan? These are important things to have, or so I have been told by every show on HGTV

By 2025 this is what the new Sherwood Oaks Apartments will look like.
It's just facts that some people don't appreciate anything and couldn't care less about keeping things nice.

I wonder where all the squatters will move on to?

Well that’s just old fashion racial stereotypes right there.

If they head off Bluebonnet by 10, can we video the bumfights between them and the beggars?

And which people would that be?

I think poor pine grove will end up with most of them
They’ll just move on to the closest mostly empty complex.

I think they are subsidized to below market rates. They aren’t public housing, at least not in the format we saw in the mid 20th century. Some of them are geared towards elderly residents specifically.
Interesting thing I noticed. Most US cities with large scale housing projects (New Orleans, Chicago, Memphis, and St Louis) mostly tore down their old public housing and replace it with lower income subsidized housing like the ones pictured above.
Toronto didn’t really do that. That whole metro area is dotted with hideous mid rise projects that look a lot like Kirby Smith, and most are in outlying suburbs where nothing is really within walking distance. A lot of the middle eastern migrants end up staying there. I guess Canada prefers to keep that concentrated and somewhat isolated.

only an out of state company with no knowledge of the area would do something so stupid

Exactly.... 90% of residents in the new place will be people from the same shitty complexes that line Sherwood on the right side from Fla blvd to Choctaw..... it will go down quickly..... there WILL be some kind of shooting within the 1st month it opens......

Not really. It'll be a central collection point for beer bottles, cigarette butts and lawn furniture.
