Guy where I work is so convinced that Biden is going to cancel student loan debt, he's going to UNO sort of.
He lives by UNO, so he registered for one class(never went/withdrew), so he could get on the meal plan. Says he gets a 120 meals for $900. All on federal student loans.

The easy compromise here is to eliminate all student debt and then eliminate the Department of Education. The government can still back loans, but the universities will be required to administer and collect on loans.

Great. So I drove a fricking beater and diverted my retirement money into college funds for my kids from 1999- 2021. And all I get is higher taxes.Meanwhile, millions of free loaders with no plan and no sense get nuffin but that delicious gubment gravy. Nothing like punishing good behavior and rewarding irresponsible behavior. What could possibly go wrong? This freakin county just lol. Can the last person out please turn off the lights?

What do you get when you incentivize bad behavior? What do you get when you dis- incentivize good behavior? And what are the unintended consequences for the culture moving forward? It’s just lunacy.

Dems are the kings of treating the symptoms not the problems, but their treatments make the underlying problem worse.
This will send the signal to colleges to charge whatever they want because the government will just pay. And this will send a signal to every kid that they can just chill for 4 years worry free because college will be free. People will treat college like a free 4 year weed and Xbox binge

This is correct. Hell both of mine are still in school. Maybe I should find out how to qualify the 2 kids.

You’ll still need the money you’ve saved, this is similar to the minimum wage being raised. The baseline cost for college is about to go up because they know everyone has 50k in their pockets to start.

And thus the other side of this problem. I’ve pounded on my kids to get good grades and it will pay off. They are both on scholarships. These loons took that scholarship incentive away for these kids. Everybody gets a trophy.
