Hopefully hospitalizations will begin decreasing in the next week or so

It's in his link. This wave is higher than both of those waves, but not even close to the initial hit back in april '20.
My phone cuts the graph off in April 20 so I could not really see what the March/April peak was. On my phone, they look similar.

What’s the Mar/Apr 2020 curve? I cannot see it for whatever reason looking on my phone.
Just realized I’ve been habitually leaving out “not” even though that is my intent on several posts I’ve been making today

That's the beginning of the chart. It looks like its just short of 5.0.

I know the majority of people getting it and who are in the hospital are unvaccinated people.
The only thing that sort of concerns me is that because of all of these idiots not getting vaccinated, the virus will continue to evolve and get stronger to the point it is stronger than the vaccine, but until that starts to happen I don't see the point in reporting all of these numbers and getting people worked up.
if it takes out someone who isn't vaccinated, then that's one less unvaccinated person we don't have to worry about.

Another thing of note. The reproduction value is 60% higher than the winter wave, yet the hospitalization rate is lower
Which wasn't that what they told us it would do when they first discovered it?

To be fair, Covid is still spreading around in highly vaccinated areas albeit at a much slower pace. Is that enough to enable new strains to pop up? IDK.
There is at least a couple of doctors I have seen that are concerned that if the virus is able hang around in kind of a slow burn situation then it might give it time to mutate. That was just a theory I saw and could be nothing at all.

The governor/media keeps preaching “the time to get vaccinated was 6 weeks ago” and “we’re 6 weeks away from seeing any positive momentum from this”
I would think, in my small minded, non medical brain, that at least getting the first dose in more people will help curb the spread in the short-term as well. Even if it isn’t “fully” effective until 2 weeks after the second dose, you still get some protection starting a week or so after the first dose.
You would think the powers that be would repeat that over and over instead. Saying the time to get vaccinated was 6 weeks ago is just going to make people say “oh well, too late”

A Dr on wwl said Louisiana is leading the nation in COVID the same as it did during the initial surge. We all attributed that surge to Mardi Gras. So why is this the case for this surge?

We are pretty much in line with MS, AL, and GA and other states with low vax rates like ourselves
