Yes it has been:

Somebody gets it

correct. but the answer wasn't quite reassuring knowing how useless the lockdowns were. some hint / nod towards that wouldn't dispelled the silly question. but there was none.

He directly said the opposite just yesterday

In the meantime, more vaccinations and mask wearing in the areas most impacted by the Delta variant will enable us to avoid the kind of lockdowns, shutdowns, school closures, and disruptions we faced in 2020. Unlike 2020, we have both the scientific knowledge and the tools to prevent the spread of this disease. We are not going back to that.

Its a no win, and talking around the question there is the correct thing to do

I think the surge has people being a little more cautious. The ramp in vaccinations obviously hasn't made an impact yet, but it will in a few weeks.

difficult thing to do with all the flip flop messaging by the CDC, don't you think?

say what you want about him and his tactics. but OMB was fairly transparent when it came to COVID, the CDC, and what his administration was doing to mitigate COVID.

His biggest failure as president was this

Who's he? Biden?
Also for the record. This week Kamala Harris is quoted saying, "Get vaccinated. We all hate the masks." While WH and the CDC has circled back to suggesting that even the vaccinated should wear masks indoors. which is it?

And I promised to follow the science.
yet. we're now suggesting vaccinated individuals wear a mask indoors. that's not following the science.
it's also poor messaging to convince people to get vaccinated. "vax up yall, you'll still have to wear your mask." yay?
fwiw 87 - i'm not going after you. i'm just pointing out this administration and the CDC are all over the fricking place. I appreciate you finding data for the OT and sharing it.

Biden said we don't have to wear masks if we are vaccinated.
Two days ago, the CDC said we should.
What a clown administration.
