I'm the same with that, but nothing really worth watching in my location tonight. For the best, but part of me would still like to see the wind do its thing.

I have a shingle in my back yard... I think the roofers did a lousy job replacing my plumbing vent boots a few days ago.

When Ivan came through North AL, I watched the same tree in our yard for several hours. It finally gave up the fight about the time I finished my last beer.

Been inside most the night. Came outside to check things out and saw that one of the boards in my fence fell down.
Didn’t realize we were getting that much wind.

I'm going to tell this OT hurricane thread my family's shame:

My sister, a highly educated, soon to be PhD holder, was in her mid thirties and for some reason believed that trees make the wind blow and that if I cut down all the trees on my property, I wouldn't have issues with the wind.

It brought great shame upon myself and my family.

Last decent storm I got to watch was Issac. Just stood and watched the trees snap to attention and smoked a couple of bowls. Big arse live oak out front didn't move but could hear the water oaks falling around me. Idiot dogs had to go out during the worst of it.

Damn. Both fan light shrouds have been shattered on my patio. Also , a huge branch fell on the roof hoping for no damage in the morning...

There have been gusts of 64 reported in BR with max sustained reported at 55. That was earlier when the wind was more out of the SSE, with the more S to SSW shift we are seeing now, sustained appears to be dropping quickly, with more but lower speed gusts.

I know a lot of OTers give others a hard time, but in times like this, when some need help, it’s amazing to see how random strangers from the internet come together and help each other....

Hearing from lots of people in DeRidder / Ft Polk area that the winds on the backside they are getting are the worst they've gotten all night.

It’s like that in BR also... winds from the back side of this storm seems to be stronger and more frequent
