I’m hunkered down in Moss Bluff with my two month old. Y’all stay safe out there!

Wife locked in memorial and my house was fine during Laura. Built in January with no trees within a mile.
Not the smartest for my kid but I feel very comfortable

looking at the satellite imagery it appears there was a big convective burst that wrapped around the south side and it just covered the eye, didn’t look like the eye collapsed
Yeah. The last few frames showed a pretty good burst. That would stick to the trend from the past couple evenings. It didn't look quite as impressive as last night, though.

No contraflow? How and what does it take to initiate?
Only contraflow in Southwest Louisiana is I49 to only about Alexandria.
Without additional interstate routes, contraflow of I10 would be a nightmare. Imagine telling all eastbound truck traffic on I10 in Beaumont to find an additional route.
Contraflow typically is enacted if there is a slow moving 3, or a category 4 or 5 storm with about 30 hours before tropical storm force winds reach the area. Low lying parishes are supposed to evacuate at 40 to 50 hours before TS force winds.
Those have been the guidelines since the early 2000s, but I think Gustav was the last time anyone pulled the trigger on it.

You staying?
Heading to Houston in the morning. Leaving at 5am. If we left now, we would get there at 5am and waste a ton of gas sitting on the interstate.
