I can't post the video, but this tweet shows a video from Hurricane Hunters of two planes passing in the eye within seeing distance of each other. Talk about wild.

Hurricane scientists @NOAA_AOML continue to monitor Hurricane #Delta as it tracks across the Gulf. During the last mission, both the @53rdWRS and @NOAA_HurrHunter crossed the center at the same time. Video caught Teal 73 passing into the NE eyewall. Credit: J. Zawislak LINK

The guy didn’t have to be a dick about but if people would take a few min to scroll through the last 4 or 5 pages and read the OP, this thread would prob be a few hundred pages shorter.

Not necessarily directed at you, it’s just obvious when people don’t take a few seconds to try to find their answers before asking “if Lafayette going to get hit hard???”

rt you making any special preparations?

Looks like we’ll be right in those hurricane gusts and get plenty of rain.

I went and spent the week with my family in NOLA for Laura

I'm still mulling my options since I really don't think I should have much trouble getting there if I decide to leave tomorrow morning

but I think I'll just hunker down and let the chips fall where they may this time

I imagine there's no way we get anywhere near the wind we got for Laura up here

ETA: my sole concern is I REALLY hate being without power

played that game long enough already

I tried following everything on the NHC but that stuff makes little sense to me so I figured someone on here could dumb it down since people here follow this stuff much closer than myself, a Tennessean, does

You can almost see it on the Brownsville radar

I could already see it 2 hours ago when a band rolled in and it started raining while I’m picture framing my brand new roof tarp that I can only hope holds in a 100+ mph wind.

where can I find wind readings in Ellick from Laura... I honestly don't know exactly what was seen up here and I'd like to find out... I just know it was a bit more than I know I expected
