I suspect some aren’t thinking about this without emotions in the way.
Its quite straightforward: Lake Charles is already badly damaged AND not yet repaired. Given this situation its better for a hurricane to pass where everything is already messed up than mess up another city.
This DOES NOT mean our hearts are not breaking for lake charles.

Jesus frick.. this the classic I don’t give a frick about your area as long as it doesn’t affect me. I still question why this shite is happening. Lake Charles doesn’t deserve this. No one does. This is the third type of this sick twisted type comment.. others came from New Orleans folks. New Orleans dodges every bullet imagined yet lake Charles takes it up the arse. And the media doesn’t give a F. You had the weather channel reporting from New Orleans yesterday saying New Orleans is fatigued. Give me a break. want to talk fatigued Paul Goodloe, go ask people in the lake Charles area about fatigue. What does New Orleans have to do with this storm. The media and their obsession with New Orleans.
I don’t live in NO, I live in BR. As a city we’ve never had it as bad as LC or NO, We aren’t as close to the coast.
But I’ve had a tarp on my house and a tree in my bedroom. We had to leave home for six months and I do understand the hardship and the stress of these disasters. That’s why I wouldn’t wish it on anyone.
But if my home was already damaged I’d say hit mine again, leave my neighbor’s alone. That’s better than both of us being severely impacted. But that’s just me.

You believe TWC over the NHC?
Well that’s a first

I get the logic...but still

That TWC map looks like the NHC map... for tropical storm force wind probability.

Aint no pm feature, thats bullshite people just post lol. Couldn't put one on here, every hard leg would be blowing the girls up.
shite if we had one pj would have every girl from the LP trailer parks on here hitting up the hard legs. He would be the resident white trash pimp
I appreciate the offer, my neighbor over there is staying and will let me know though.
Stay safe.

No you wouldn’t say that if it affected you directly like this crap in lake Charles. Theory works in fantasy land vacuum theory world.. but not the real world. This is an epic kick in the nuts for the SWLA folks.

Staying, live in Mermentau cove. Approx 20-30 miles from coast. Eastern eye wall should pass close or directly over us from what the models are showing so it should be interesting. We stayed for Laura as well but this one scares me due to the proximity of the eastern eye wall. We shall see.

Mobile radar on the way – U of Oklahoma’s Cooperative Institute for Mesoscale Meteorological Studies (@oucimms) and @NOAA @NEXRADROC are deploying a mobile radar unit to Lake Charles, LA to provide additional radar coverage during Hurricane Delta.
Once deployed, radar data will be available here.

You wouldn’t say that It you lived in the Lake Charles area. Again goes back to it doesn’t affect me so I am going to make an asinine Monday morning quarterback type comment.

But you are not thinking logically. Sure your theory works in a vacuum, but many only had minor damage, if it blows the tarps off it becomes major damage.
Many just got their damage fixed and new roofs are not going to hold up to 100 mph winds. Haven't had time to bond well.
Also debris has not been picked up yet. Thwt is a huge ordeal. Deadly. Causes way more damage etc.
Would be best to go somewhere else.

TWC graphic was showing what the global intensity models are showing... it wasn't their own predictions
this is from the 10 AM NHC forecast discussion
quote:
the first 24 h of the forecast is already above the intensity
guidance.
so basically the storm is already underperforming on intensity
quote:
The global models forecast strong southwesterly shear
developing over the hurricane during the last 12 h before landfall,
and based on this some weakening is forecast.
already underperforming and strong shear about to kick in... this could end up on the weak end of the scale by the time landfall occurs

You should've learned by now not everyone needs to hear or see your thoughts.

Damn son, you need to be careful. Why the decision to stay?
