If the wind field were to stay the same size and the center line holds, what kind of winds would NOLA area expect?

Sustained? Mid 30s to low 40s, at best. Gusts up to 50-55, perhaps.

More likely? 20-30 sustained and gusts into the mid 40s.

Does anyone have the anticipated wind map based off of the current trajectory?

I saw it for the last few

Did 7 pm advisory from NWS show Delta jogging back west again?

From one of the weather forums:

"The atmosphere was sampled all around the GOM this afternoon after 18z, the readings will go into tonight's 0z global models.
It does indeed shows stronger ridging in the NE GOM.
The atmosphere ahead of it in the GOM is very moist with shear decreasing as it gets closer. We should see steady strengthening through tomorrow."

What this means is a likely further west shift in the models, maybe closer to eastern Cameron. I really hope that isn't the case.

That is the ridge to the east or west strengthing? Assuming east. Which means more west of a push.

Survey says? Not enough information, and while unlikely to have had sustained hurricane winds there, I can't rule it out.

These systems can only ride around the edge of the high, so if it's more stout, the more W/WNW it will push until it finds the weakness or the trough pulls it N/NE.

I’ve stayed to ride out several hurricanes that ended up missing us.

The only one that actually hit when we stayed was Alicia. She fricked our house up pretty badly in Houston (Sugarland/Mission Bend) back in ‘83? We lived in a hotel for six weeks on the insurance dime. Insurance said we had to move back into our house after that. Had to watch your toes at night because the carpet was gone but the nail boards (not sure what they’re called) were still in place.

Pop told me I had to take the kids and GTFO with Rita. Worst 3 weeks of my life staying with my mom.

I almost stayed for Laura but that Cat 3/4 announcement the morning of the storm made Pop move his arse (he was the only reason I was staying). So me and the dogs shagged arse.

No. No track update at 7a, 1p, 7p, or 1a.

Do we know if we need to gtfo from Lake Charles yet or still a little too early to tell?
