The dude I follow on fb said that it should hit land around 1pm Friday. I was gonna leave Friday morning but damn maybe Thursday. What sucks is my kid has their first football game Thursday night and I would have to drive 3 hours to get to my parents in Texas after a game. Sigh.
Poor Jaxon

I have a daughter who is a dancer on the danceline a-hole. It’s her senior year.

I thought the predictions for Rita and Ike were missed. Ike was supposed to hit LC and Rita was supposed to hit Galveston. I may be remembering wrong.
Rita was missed as you said. But Rita went up the mouth of the Sabine. They had Rita passing east of Galveston 48 hours out. They were only off by less than 40 miles. And that was 15 years ago.

Probably for the same reason you don’t bury your dead underground in LA.

Does anyone know the worst location of a tree relative to the house? I got a giant water oak and a willow oak east of the back of the house.
Not sure what you are asking.
Trees don't all fall the same direction during a storm.

i'm not worried about anything except for this. we hopefully have a guy coming Thursday to repair a window that wasn't fixed
if we didn't have debris everywhere, i may stay. but that is going to frick up shite

Main transmission lines don't handle being underground well.
Also, when buried, in addition to decomposition of the insulation over time, it also makes it more difficult to identify and repair problems.

40 miles is make or break for Lake Charles

Really?? I thought with the latest trends it would be too far west for these kinds of winds. But I haven't been keeping up with it as much as I probably should.

If it stays as projected as a low 3, I’m going to stay. Most of the debris in my neighborhood got picked up, the larger stuff at least. Daytime landfall also aiding to that decision

I’m going to be in Shreveport Friday at 6 pm. Will be able to leave at 7 pm.
Need to get back to my family in Baton Rouge.
Think that’s possible?
