Where were you during Laura and Gustav?

I'll bet there is hardly anyone up this late. Worth noting, the eye missed Cozumel and is barely gonna clip the Yucutan. Strengthening wise I wonder what this is going to do relative to intensification in the next 12 hours.

not the best radar but you get the idea

Might keep the storm compact if it didn’t disrupt the eyewall when it went over Yucatán.

I live in the lake Charles area now, for Gustav I was still living in Baton Rouge. I think I was only without power for about a week after gustav....it was about 2 1/2 after Laura.

Well if I'm without power in BR for 2 weeks, I'll take a vacation.

Even though the eye missed to the east of Cozumel, Delta oddly looks to be the strongest on its lower left quadrant. I’m sure that will change when it hits its stride in the open Gulf. Cozumel definitely is still getting rocked...

ETA- Found a video on YouTube earlier of a person who drove down highland right after Gustav hit and after watching Delta and what it could potentially be for the BR area, the pucker factor really set in

Post that vid! I'd love to see it!

Wasn't some sort of land interaction even though minimal going to come into play?

Highland Road after Gustav

My parents live off highland and you can’t even see the street they live on because of too many trees down

Gustav took out a ton of trees. Between myself and 2 neighbors, we lost 7 big trees.

My fear is that we haven’t had a storm even close to Gustav caliber in 12 years and this will be another water oak select cut of a storm

I wasn't here during Gustav. But it looks kinda similar to Andrew. Which I was in BR.

Exactly what will happen. Webb Park will get a little easier too.

I guess you must assume the lower level circ is a bit north as it appears in this earlier based on the later radar above from Cuba. Hence it barely clipping Cancun. But still laying the wood.

I was in Kirby Smith during Andrew. Watched it take the roof off of the IHOP and sling pea gravel off the roof of Kirby like 22 rounds popping car windows left and right. Big oaks came down right by Pentagon. It was a mess. Hard to believe those were not hurricane force winds.

Euro ensembles remain on the western edge of guidance.

Combine with the GFS ensembles in your head, and that's roughly the window of possible outcomes.

The early guidance is clustered AF, so the NHC will probably not move much since that hasn't.

Euro is giving Lake Charles the

GFS is saying

NHC will spilt the difference.

EDIT
Duke, In your humble opinion would you think a more east or west track eventually?

Take the Louisiana Ave exit or keep going and take I-49? Asking for a friend.
