So the 00z stuff hasn't moved much huh?

I'll be back in about 3 hours with more ensembles.

We are approx 72 hrs away from landfall according to the HWRF.

Whats the NHC's mileage deviance average 3 days out over the past years? I know some have nailed it ,some are, what,?, 50 miles off?

It still kills me this thing isn't in the Gulf yet. It gonna jet across the gulf in around 48 hours I guess.

since its 2020 I guess it would be safe to assume another tropical storm in the gulf in a couple weeks. Kinda like Lee in '11

Methinks that was just a better actual center fix altogether. That 973mb drop, for example, had a 37kt surface wind. That's definitely not the true center, but if it's still very small, it's understandable the drops aren't hitting it perfectly.

We're less than 100,000 tons into a 1,500,000 ton harvest.

This goddamned thing couldn't have picked a worse time and location to hit.

I offer up George Carlin's cheer..

Rat shite
Bat shite
Dirty old twat

Tied in a knot

Hooray

Lizard shite

The jaunt over the Yucatán isn’t gonna retard this fricker at all, is it?

Man, I really thought we were going to see more of an east shift on this run with the new data...

And just like that, they’ve updated already. Looks like the Cat 5 models are off the table for now. That’s a blessing.

Spaghetti models are also very tightly clustered, but that’s probably a bit deceiving. Confidence is high, but not that high.

00z Euro still doing its TX/LA border shenanigans like it has for a day or so now. Still a substantial outlier in that respect.

Nope.

Angle of approach and eye wall size need be what everyone in the Baton Rouge area should be paying attention to. If the eye passes between Laffy and BR then that means BR will have many more additional hours of hurricane force winds.
Gonna be a lot of power outages.

I'm not leaving Baton Rouge. I got a power supply for the internet. Full tank of gas. I'll hang out in the car for a day or two if I lose power or it gets too hot.

Maybe I'll leave after the storm if it doesn't look like power will be restored quickly. Ex wife and kid will be fine in NOLA and I'll probably go there if we get it bad and stay for a few with family. I live alone here so just me.

I kinda hope we get the brunt. I don't want it to go west to Lake Charles or to Mobile(so much debris everywhere there, that would be bad). BR will be fine.

We didn’t have internet for almost a month after Laura. When the power poles all got knocked over, to clear the roads and debris, the power company just cut all the cable lines. Suddenlink had to re-run their entire infrastructure. There are still a lot of people here who have no internet...hell, there are still some without power. Still hear generators at night. Hope your internet is fiber and is buried.
