The last three times we went to the Rigolets there was a system in the Gulf. We still went out but it was pretty tough. The weather is perfect today and we’re on the way now but there’s officially a system in the Gulf today. It’s been an incredible string of bad luck and bad timing
Mr Boat
Did y’all catch fish. I’ve had some great trips when the barometer gets real low at the time of these storms. Both fresh and salt.

Just stay west of LC. That’s all I hope

He probably meant keep it east of LC. TBH, SELA has been super lucky this hurricane season so it's only fitting something like this would skullfrick them. Not really many other places it can go without truly fricking someone up as the entire gulf is fubar right now. Sally dumped some huge amounts of rainfall.

I’ll be in Cameron the next 3 or 4 days. Closest room I can find is Lafayette. That tells me all I need to know about how folks are doing down there. It’s terrible.

Showed this to the Duchess. She looked upon it, grunted, and took a shite sitting in my arms in response. She will be good at this, no doubt.

Euro more west on this run but a little weaker...The Saturday morning position 24 hours later is just north of BR but very weak

Euro has been about as reliable as Peej this year

Not bad, two weeks ago it was Houma was closest could find.

So Duke/rds: would a stronger storm mean more east? Stronger storm influenced to turn N/NE earlier?
Also with water temps in northern gulf now in the mid to high 70s seems like a weakening system at landfall no matter what.

No no no. For it to count in bingo needs to be organic

FML, just cleaned up from last storms at camp in lower terrebonne. Do i need to go back and storm prep again?
Posted on 10/4/20 at 1:57 pm to NorthEndZone
frick me. I’m going hunting in South Texas Thursday through Sunday. There is no way I could leave my wife and kids at home in New Orleans with a storm headed this way.

It won't make a huge difference as the 500 mb stuff looks to be right now. Short range, GFS ensembles (which are actually good now) seem to suggest a stronger storm goes farther west at 12z. rds will probably elude to why, I haven't really peeked at the details.
Long range, when you'd be looking at the north move there isn't some big trough to kick it out NE. There is a little something troughy coming across the middle of the country by Friday, and a stronger storm would feel the N and NE sooner but there's just not a lot to it to really throw it hard NE as depicted at least looking at 500 mb.

quote:They've got us bunked in a Holiday Inn near the casinos. Looks like maybe 10 State Farm remote claim vans and the rest are all Lily, Inc. trucks/vans/buckets. By the time we all get back to the hotel at night, the parking lot is jam packed full, and we're parking on the grass.
Closest room I can find is Lafayette.
They had us in the Motel 6 near the I10/210 split for the first couple of weeks. That place was a dump even before the storm, but they ARE back on the power grid now. We ended our retainer with them, so they may have some space available for you.
I drove around the casino area yesterday, and there are a bunch of hotels that appear to be structurally sound but unoccupied. I would guess that those will be coming back online given the demand for rooms. Driving home last night I passed a convoy of Suddenlink trucks that were heading to hotels in Jennings.

Any time predictions on 92L for the projected path?
How long before it’s in northern gulf?
