DEI strikes again in the maintenance department, manufacturing or both?

Not sure if we're just hearing about more things now but there seems to be a major competency problem currently across all industries in this country.

This stuff is more common that you think. Just think its getting more attention now for whatever reason.

Something fishy about the way all of these issues are being reported. Don't get me wrong, I'm not upset that it's being reported, but these kinds of mishaps have always happened.

I always assume there's an agenda when it comes to how stories and themes are spun up.

My take on it is that there's an organized push to make people uncomfortable with flying. We already know there are pilot shortages and airlines are having a hard time with fulfilling their commitments.

Just rest assured that in the end the consumer loses.

There have been more transportation related incidents in the past 3.5 years than any time I remember. Not that its his fault necessarily, but the fact that we have a transportation secretary we all know was only picked for his identity (he has 0 transportation expertise) should give people pause on this DEI bullshite.

Haven’t flown in over a year and don’t plan on it. Business trips I’m driving, and if it’s a place I can’t drive to then I don’t need to be there anyway

I hate the DEI crap, but also hate how every time there is an issue with a plane, we all say DEI. Do you actually know if the part was assembled, manufactured, or maintenace performed by a DEI hire?

Makes us anti-DEI folks sound ignorant...

I am pretty conservative and feel like most of DEI is ridiculous, but blaming every maintenance issue on it is silly. These airplanes run almost continually. Things break.

Important to note that, according to the linked story, this was an AirBus A330. Not Boeing this time.

Currently on a flight, could have been me.

Most of these maintenance items have to be reported, this is likely just the media picking and choosing to report more articles that sound like fear porn.

It's pretty clear that "plane maintenance issue" stories are getting clicks so they're reporting every time a flight has an issue when it would've been a non-story before. Yeah DEI stuff is stupid but saying "see! Them woke DEI hires cain't even turn a wrench!" with zero evidence every time a panel is cracked is stupid too.

Law of averages said it had to happen to a non-Boeing plane eventually.

Yep! 40,000 domestic flights a day. shite happens.
The important part is that people rarely die.
Are we gonna start reporting everytime a Ford breaks down on the highway? Will the politards blame it on DEI at the Ford factory? Or have Fords always been shite?

Indeed.

An example of how the media manipulates people is how often certain stories aren't reported. Medical Errors account for many, many more injuries and deaths than people realize. Imagine if the media reported every story where a healthcare provider accidentally killed someone in the hospital. It would be the equivalent of a 737 crashing every day.
