It works flawlessly. There's a difference between working, and a system attack, genius.

It's here to stay and has changed that entire economic structure completely. My guess is Nvidia suffers a slowdown in next report

Clearly our AI took action to protect itself.

Mine also. Damn thing is amazing.

Dropped a bomb on the ai industry - out of nowhere.

So much for proprietary American AI tech and the billions invested.

I’m trying to figure out how it could possibly be wise to load this. Is it possible that malicious data mining could happen? Of course that could be true with Facebook or TigerDroppimgs. Who the heck knows.

Ironic that the hardware company that likely profited the most is going to screwed the hardest...

My opinion is they deliberately designed and sold a chip to circumvent export laws...

Demand for Nvidia chips will most likely INCREASE as a result of deepseek

It simply shows that this tech can be made more cheaply.

We have no idea how much they spent. You realize the 6 mil number floating around is how much they spent on the "final touches" of their model, right?

It's like saying you took a new 911, swapped the street tires for slicks and then claimed you were able to develop a higher performing sports car than Porsche for less than 10k.

Fine.

Let’s take the cost out of it.

Why do people have an issue with another open source AI?

Is it simply because it’s from China?

Guess that’s what happens when everyone in your country has built in safety squints

I haven't seen many people take issue with the product other than the censorship.

Most of the pushback I've seen comes from people combatting the false notion that deepseek only spent a few mil to create their LLM. That's patently false but I guess it makes for a good clickbait headline.

Because the idea of anyone in the world(especially China) being better than the US at something doesn’t sit well with red blooded OTers.
