Those are some wild images seeing it cut off "the foot" of "the boot". Nothing above the foot and nothing but snow along the entire Gulf of America coast...
I don't believe I've ever been disappointed with a snow event moving south of me here in central AL.

4-8 inches in New Orleans would blow the record away. I think it's 2.7 inches in 1963.

I saw that flights are canceled tomorrow.
Houston announced both airports will be closed tomorrow. They announced it early this morning. I think they just didn't want a bunch of people stuck here that they won't be able to take care of. It's a smart move.

Any of you math wizards able to tell me about snow weight and how concerned should I be about a large metal RV cover with a 15 degree slope?
Getting a little nervous at these predicted totals.

I’m resetting my expectations so I don’t get disappointed. Anything over 3 and I’ll feel lucky.
Yeah, people expecting 6+ are going to be disappointed. Of course folks will exaggerate and claim they got a foot

It will be hard to get those totals at MSY with warm air adv off the Gulf over the top and surface flow coming across the Lake. It creates a bit of a microclimate, but maybe the surface CAA will be strong enough to overcome it.

That's what I always thought protected the city from this, winds off the lake.

When does this start for St.Tammany? The weather channel app now says after midnight and finished by noon. Seem like a 6-7 hour shift earlier.
