A lot of you are still just talking about tonight and Tuesday, but Wednesday morning will be dangerous. The temps in south Louisiana will be in the mid teens with a wind chill in single digits. That means that the snow will start turning into ice. Driving will be very difficult.

If you have to drive put a few sacks of crawfish in the bed of your truck and wrap Mardi Gras beads around your tires for traction.

I'm thinking Thursday at best...secondary roads and those shaded by a canopy of trees .... good luck

New Orleans will shut down the rest of this week if we get 9 inches

Chances this keeps moving south and hardly anyone sees snow?

I don’t think it get warm enough to melt all the snow on Wednesday and the low for Thursday is gonna be 20. So still a chance for icing. Thursday afternoon will get warm enough to melt everything.

It's gonna bounce a little south and north. We are pretty locked in now just got to see where that heavy band sets up tomorrow.

Not great. The Hrrr is probably underselling the northern edge

Weather guy I watch talking about South Texas..."The roads are going to be slicker than bull's snot"

Seems like the whole thing might just move out to sea and we get a cold clear day. That might be a best case scenario!

Well my downtown office says we are open tomorrow for those who feel they can make it. I guess the ghosts of the past will be there. And our poor facilities people who make the place run. It’s an office.

If your office is in New Orleans absolutely nobody should be driving tomorrow and probably until Thursday afternoon at the earliest.

Dumb question: I have a few untreated 2x4’s laying around in the garage. Would that be safe to burn in the inside fireplace?
Posted on 1/20/25 at 1:53 pm to Mr Roboto
I don’t like that run at all.
