Are there any updates on the progress on getting I-10 reopened from lafayette to Baton Rouge?

I need to get from Lafayette to Slidell and can’t find any good info. 190 seems to be the way for now…

My yard, roof and front all are covered, still. Some houses it’s melted off already, but not mine and a few around me.

All snow off the roof but neighbor still has some... For some reason he got about a foot of snow on his roof... Sidewalk and driveway still have some snow.. Grass is still covered with a few inches.. When I went out to check I forgot how the reflection of the sun still produces some big heat or radiation..

Has anyone tried to drive down Goodwood through Broadmoor/Sherwood? seems like it would be a hot spot for black ice

This is a good Xwitter thread of before and after satellite imagery and a look at the historic nature of this event.

there was sand and dirt mixed in for sure. Also, my gf initially tried to make the mouth of berries, but the berries just smooshed into the snow when she tried to put them in.

Goodwood through Broadmoor/Sherwood?
Just drove through there. Some ice remains on the edges but seemed pretty clean in the actual lanes. shite ton of people out there though. I’m a service worker, so we kinda get an exemption, but there’s a lot of folks just sightseeing.

as someone born and raised in Mobile, when the snow happens that far south, you roll with what you can do.

i remember on time we got like 5 or 6 inches of snow, and where out house was, we were about due south of the old Mobile airport and the planes would make the turn for landing - i went out in our back yard \and carved AIRPORT and then did an arrow pointing North.

wanted to help the pilots LOL

I-10 West bound including bridge opened in BR.

ETA: looks like they are making cars exit at 415. East bound looks open but seeing only bridge access from LA1. Might be from 415 as well.

Are we assuming that most of the roads that are okay to drive today will be all good tomorrow morning too?

I would think so. Seems to me it would be safer to leave the well traveled roads open than closing them and allowing ice to form in the tire tracks.
