We had a solid 10 straights hours of snow today. Last measurement I took was a little over 9” in Metairie. Great day!

I’m not too far from you. Same here, little over 7”. This was a ton of fun. I’ve spent most of the day outside with my kids. My 6 year old was a champ today. Did the old feet in a ziploc bag in his boots to keep them dry. Building snowmen, went on an “adventure” into our back yard. Great time.

Old as shite and off the ground
that was to cool the house because there was no A/C
You could update the pipes one summer. Sounds like at some point it had no plumbing at all

Another thing I love about snow is that if it is clear and there is any moon at all you can walk outside in the dark without any light.

my house weren't old as shite and off the ground with copper pipes everywhere, I could deal with this once a year. Its pretty damn fun if you dont have to go anywhere. Eta: or if you dont have to go outside every 2 hours to make sure nothing froze, and maybe heat gun a pipe under the house at 2am cause an ice cycle stopped the faucets up

What is your house wrapped with? Seems like if it was wrapped well you wouldn’t have to worry so much. I’m not judging. Also off the ground, and I never really know when or how much to worry about this.

So I see we will get up to 35-36 tomorrow for a high in this area. Will that be enough to melt some of the snow on the streets then turn into an ice mess tomorrow night and Thursday morning?

Oh hell yes. The fun is just beginning lol.

Just under 9 inches of snow in open backyard in southern end of Cut Off, and it is still snowing lightly. Also had drifts that were much higher near fencing.

Neighbor has a 1 foot or so retaining wall between our lots and you cannot tell that it is even there.

This was just a fantastic day and I’m glad the whole family was home for it. I was lucky to not get locked in. What a beautiful concurrence of events where it snowed from the moment we got up this morning til twilight. The snow was some of the most aesthetically pleasing I’ve ever seen. The wind whipping it aroud the yard was magical. The silence- no cars or no airport traffic to disturb the stillness. Kids playing for hours then crashing inside with rosy wind-burnt cheeks. What a day.
