Thought it was going to make the trip less enjoyable trying to deal with that but so far no bad cravings or anything. I’ve only dipped for maybe 3 years half a can a day. So not a life long habit that I’m breaking but still couldn’t quite do it at home. We will see how i deal with all the triggers when I get back home but so far no issues. In grand cayman right now. Been supplementing the can with rum.

I dipped for almost ten years and quite about a year ago

it fricking sucks but you just gotta' get through it. can't speak to anyone else's experience, but dip made me incredibly lethargic. When I quit I almost instantly noticed it got easier to drag my arse to the gym

Quitting was a lot easier than I expected. A few cravings, nothing I couldn't handle. A couple of weeks and I was fine.

I quit smoking a week before I went on a 10 day vacation. It made it easier, not being in my normal routine. Wife did the same the following year.

I can not smoke for several days without a problem...as long as I don't drink.

The problem is that I very much like to drink.

I've gone from 1.5-2 packs a day to about a half pack a day, but shite, it's hard.

I quit about 8 months ago. I made it past golf and fishing trips but holy frick I miss it while duck hunting. I really wanted to start again opening day but I am not getting on that habit again.

If you want to quit, it’s easy. Did it for 7-8 years and tried quitting unsuccessfully a few times. About a year and a half ago I got a bad ulcer in my mouth and said frick this, I’m done. When you don’t think about dipping as an option, it’s not hard to quit.

Not trying to encourage you to go this route but there's no shame in trying nicotine gum to get off of that stuff. I was able to use nicotine gum to break the dipping habit and then regular gum and patches to break the nicotine gum habit and then regular gum for a while with no nicotine. Frankly, quitting regular gum was tougher than I expected.

You can do it... if you want to! This just reminded me to see how much I've saved. I quit Dec. 2016 and I've saved $5459.85

How many vacations do you take a year. Honestly, that’s not really much of an accomplishment.

I had the same issue. I smoked up to 3 packs a day and decided to quit cold turkey. Had to completely make a lifestyle change, no drinking, no social events, no long road trips or anything for the first 3 to 4 months and once I got over that hill it was much easier.

I really don’t have any cravings whatsoever. I do have a minor urge for the physical part. A little indigestion, but other than those two very mild symptoms I’ve been good.

Golf, fishing, welding and woodwork were my big triggers. That’s gonna be tough to no break it out. It had gotten to where it made me feel kinda odd in a bad way so quitting doesn’t seem so terrible. Even though it’s only day three I feel a lot better.

The rum doesn’t hurt.

I watched a dude when I worked construction smoke on his breaks. He would come outside, and take 3 or 4 drags tops and be done with the cigarette. He’s smoke two to four cigs per break. I could never get past the taste left in your mouth smoking.

I've done it before. If you're in a situation where you can chain smoke, it isn't that difficult.

A Saturday in the fall where you're watching football outside? Forget about it. Kill a case (and a half) and burn through half a carton.

I would chain smoke while driving to Houston from Baton Rouge.

A lot of truth right here. Them beers just straight up disappear on Saturday afternoons.

My parents were both what you would consider chain smokers. When my dad woke up in the morning, he rolled over and lit one before his feet hit the ground.

They both died from cancer in their early 60's.

I never even THINK about dipping when I’m on vacation. Like, I’ll completely forget I dip.

Then I get home and I dip without even thinking about it. It’s just a part of my day like eating lunch or showering.
