Ain’t nobody got time to read all that.

I agree too many costly appeals and all that good stuff. Justice needs to be served more quickly and no appeals if it’s a cut and dry case such as this one.

Need to take away what we have as the death penalty in today's world and allow the family of the victim to pronounce judgment on what they want.

If the victim has no family, allow a jury to make the judgment as it is today.

If my loved one was a victim, I'd just as soon do the deed myself. Allow me that choice.

I believe the numbers. Death penalty should be magnitudes cheaper in cases where there isn’t a doubt of the guilt of the perp.

Scumbag Daigle will die of old age before he runs out of appeals.

Not a huge fan of the death penalty but if there’s any case that deserves it it’s this one.

I’m a huge fan of it especially when there’s video or undisputed evidence someone committed a murder. My only complaint is it takes too long. I would gladly volunteer to execute anyone with those circumstances. When it’s not clear cut I’m okay avoiding the death penalty.

I think there should be one appeal (limited to one year from conviction) and when or if the appeal is denied execution should be fast, like within 24 hours.

OTOH, this old bastard had the murder on video so he should spend 30 days in the electric chair starting tonight.

of course you don't... they don't support your view, so why would you believe them, as if they are, i dunno, factual, given the evidence we have and research that has been done...

and look, i was once exactly like everyone else here... i used to be a HUGE proponent of the death penalty, i really was... but i took time to listen to the other side's points, investigate the facts, and had to face the reality that i was dead fricking wrong about my assumption/belief of the death penalty... i couldn't believe it either, but AT LEAST do like i did and do the research before just dismissing an opposing view point because it doesn't mesh with yours....

and that's cool, i can appreciate your sincerity... only thing i can recommend is call your congressman or woman and tell them, so they can try to work on your behalf to write a bill to introduce for debate....

Still firmly believe if we still had public executions we’d have lower violent crime

Societies were more violent in the era of public executions. They were raucous entertainment spectacles. During the 18th century, English law prescribed capital punishment for a wide array of crimes, including some we would consider fairly trivial, like pickpocketing. Nevertheless, pickpockets worked the crowds at public executions.

Inhumane would be carried out swiftly. Within a month. Would need to secure PPV contracts and rights. All money from PPV proceeds will go to victims and families

I accept that the death penalty is needed for some people but if some unconnected 3rd party is paying to watch a person die inhumanely that person is probably screwed up in the head.

I guess I'm an idiot for asking, but why is this the case? If you're guilty of something like this and they sentence you to death, why waste everyone's time and wait 10 years to do this?

It's funny how "liberals" trust the government to control every aspect of their lives except for the criminal justice system, and "conservatives" don't trust the government to do anything correctly except to put people in jail and/or to death (these are obviously sweeping generalizations that do not convey everyone's viewpoint)

i was about to say...

i'm sitting here thinking to myself, i don't fit in either of those two characterizations, and i'm perfectly fine with that...
