There are stores I go into maybe 2 or 3 times a year that ask if I have their rewards card, and my answer has always been "no", and there's no hassle after that if you put the right tone on it.
Then I made the mistake of getting the GNC rewards card because they have weekends where everything's 30% off and I want to know when that happens. My reward for getting their card is an email from Mackie Shilstone about every two hours.

In Houston you can get an 18pk of Coors Light at CVS for 13.99 with their rewards card. Without it, or at a gas station, that same 18pk costs 18.99.
