My daughter is starting 6th grade next week. Seems like only yesterday I was feeding with a bottle, changing her diaper and looking for stuff on Sprout for her to watch.

I know she has to grow up, but the pain is so real.

I drove by her old daycare yesterday and it really choked me up. Picking her up at the end of the day was such a bright part of my day.

It’s unreal. I can’t stand how much time we have to focus on work and bullshiat when we really need to be enjoying our kids.

My oldest left this morning for 8th grade.

I’m with you. Oldest daughter starting kindergarten this week. It stings a little. 2 older boys starting kindergarten really didn’t hit me like this.

Our oldest just turned 29, middle 24 (getting married in January) and the youngest is starting her junior year of college.

I completely get it.

You ain't lying. Watching my oldest (she's only 8) become so mature and act almost like an adult in some situations is mind boggling to me.

We went to school orientation yesterday and my youngest charged on into his classroom without even a look over his shoulder...that got my wife in the feels. She had to go cry it out in the bathroom for a few minutes.

Enjoy it while you can folks. My youngest just moved out a couple weeks ago and it hurt pretty bad. I'm happy for her, it's an exciting time in someone's life when they strike out on their own but when she hugged me and walked out that door I was crying like a bitch.

It goes way faster than you think it will

I was out on the field with my 15 yr old son this weekend and we were tossing the ball around. He was just throwing flat footed, so I told him to do his normal QB drop and step into it…yea, I’m pretty sure my hand is broken now. They grow up fast. I remember lobbing the ball right into hands so he could make the catch. Now he can fire that thing so hard i can’t catch it.

I’m dealing with the same sort of stuff. Not quite as old but man…I dread the day the red witch comes.

For now she’s mostly sweet and loves me and wants her lullaby and cuddles.

And one day she won’t.

I’m not ready.

My son just stopped letting me rock him to sleep last week (16 months). I wasn’t ready.

My kids are starting 6th and 7th.... It seemed like yesterday they were starting Pre-K 3..

But looking back at the last 30 years seems like a blur... It's like where did the time go...

We just got back from vacation and my daughter likes to match my wife with clothes, my wife said she doesn't mind because soon those days will be long gone...

After high school, life goes into 1.25x speed. After college, 2x. After kids, 3x. It’s wild.

Our little girl will turn 1 in September, crawling all around, standing up, trying to walk, blows my mind because we just brought her home yesterday.

Every man should have a daughter just to experience this. “Daddy!”
