My boss feels as though it's necessary to micromanage everything I do, and I'm getting pretty sick and tired of the shite. I know what my job entails, and I produce above average results. This prescriptive approach motherfricker is literally interfering with my productivity. Morning meetings everyday, frequent daily drop-ins in my office to inquire about my sales figures, email correspondence to reiterate the bullshite discussed in aforementioned morning meeting. I've tried being tactful and diplomatic, and I've dealt with all different types of managers, but nothing could have prepared me for this deranged Glengarry Glen Ross quote reciting tool bag. Okay I am done venting. Hope you guys are having a better day than me. #FML

Get off of the OT and back to work. You've got reports to run, emails to send, and quarterly goal reports to create and send to me for my review before 2:15 today.

Go into their office, squat on their desk, shite on it, and say "micromanage this!"

Problem solved.

I’ve been in since 630. Haven’t seen the boss man yet. I should have been in the consulting business longer, never knew how good it was.

well, being in sales is your first problem if you don't like micromanagement

THis is the part where someone asks how many time you messed up the french fries in the past to bring this upon yourself.

I can't because I'm spending all of my time at chochkies with Samir and Michael

People don't quit companies. People quit their bosses.

Try working for someone who is literally ADHD. This person has trouble completing a sentence without changing subjects. Requirements are an incomprehensible mess, and there are always a dozen projects but the only one that matters is the one that MUST BE DONE RIGHT NOW! Until, of course, it is dropped in favor of something else.

I actually feel sorry for this person, it must be terrible to go through life like that.

You can drive yourself crazy trying to manage and influence this person who thinks everything will come crashing down if he lets up even a little, or you can just change jobs and focus that energy on more productive things. Eventually your performance will suffer and then he'll really ramp things up. Leave now while you're ahead.

Yeah, it might be time to move on. I don't see this situation getting any better. I have a high threshold for bullshite, but I'm at my limit.

You’re about to get fired. I’ve been there: top sales rep for several months in the southern region and was micromanaged beyond belief. One minor screw up and I was canned. Start looking for something else.
