A bizarre set of circumstances led to a 14-year-old girl firing an off-duty police officer’s gun inside a popular gaming center at Tysons Corner earlier this month.
On the afternoon of April 2, a D.C. police captain was at Level99 — a large entertainment center that bills itself as an adult playground, with more than 50 physical and mental challenges in themed rooms — when he lost his personal weapon while playing a game, Fairfax County police said.
A teen found the weapon, thought it was a prop and pulled the trigger, investigators said. No one was shot.
“En route for a weapons discharge at 1961 Chain Bridge Road at Tysons Corner,” a dispatcher said. “Off-duty officer from D.C. dropped his gun by accident. Female picked it up and shot it. No one was shot.”
It’s unclear how much time passed from when the officer lost the gun to when the girl found it and fired.
The teenager requested medical assistance, but according to a spokesperson for Fairfax County Fire, she was not taken to a hospital.
Detectives investigated the incident, but no charges have been filed against the officer, who did get his gun back, Fairfax County police said. Police turned over their investigation to the commonwealth's attorney office for review, but that office declined to file charges, saying the incident did not rise to the level of a crime.

Should be an opening for a certified police officer in DC by 3pm.

The number of people in 2026 who walk/drive around with their heads up their asses at all times is amazingly disgusting to see. I encounter it in some form every day.

Probably lots of openings

That officer should've shut down the whole arcade until they found that gun.

Unless there are absolutely no cameras inside of this place, they must not have investigated too long if they can't get a reasonable estimate for how long the gun was missing.

Because why would they ever decide to punish one of their own

I wouldn’t be surprised if this cop gets a 3 month paid suspension and goes back to the same beat

Their marketing tagline seems like BS.

Why haven't both the cop and the girl been arrested for their dangerousness?
And, actually, everybody at the arcade (including the cop and the girl) should have been arrested for seriously going to an arcade in 2026.

Am I the only person who learned from this thread that arcades seriously still exist in 2026?

Only law enforcement should be allowed to have guns. They're the only ones with the proper training to handle them safely.

It’s not an arcade from the 80s like you’re thinking. It has rooms that have puzzles, obstacle courses, etc.
It also has a bar.
It’s lame, but not like going somewhere and playing frogger

It's one of those places like Airborne Extreme. Main Event near the mall, or that Surge Entertainment place that Drew Bree's opened.
They have some arcade games, bowling, indoor zip lines, and laser tag

And that number increases every day

Where were these cops when I was at the arcade

A U.S. Capitol Police lieutenant left his service weapon in a bathroom Monday night and the unattended gun was discovered later by another Capitol Police officer.
After the House adjourned on Monday, Lt. Mike Byrd left his Glock 22 in a bathroom in the Capitol Visitor Center complex, according to sources familiar with the incident. Byrd is the commander of the House Chambers section of the Capitol Police and was on the job Tuesday and Wednesday.
Do we all remember what this dipshit did later?
