If you are so stupid as to believe 1895 technology can be bottled back up with over 400,000,000 firearms and over 1,000,000,000,000 rounds of ammo in current civilian hands

It's almost like people don't understand this. And the government doesn't know who owns what (intentionally) as they've been passed down to family members or sold/purchased privately.

Even if we got another "assault weapons" ban there'd still be millions of them in circulation. AR15s are the best selling rifles in the country and have been for years.

so we ban “AR-15’s and similar weapons” tomorrow. Does that stop mass killings in this country?

No, and I'm not advocating for it.

I simply find it absurd that people act like the weapon doesn't matter. If a guy walks into a bar while I'm sitting there, whether he has a 30 round magazine or not matters. Whether he has an AR-15 or a knife matters. To act otherwise is ludicrous.

There are far greater and relevant arguments to make in support of guns than resorting to "well they can still kill you with a knife."

You just made my point.

As a legal owner of an AR15, and I have 35 people trying to storm my house or family and I have my AR 15, at least I’m comfortable knowing I can defend myself and my family by killing 9 and injuring 26 in less than a minute

That’s my right

And you want to take that away from me

You're out of your fricking mind.

You just made the argument that you should own an AR15 because of the possibility that 35 people will storm your home. When all you had to do was say "it's fun as shite to shoot". What sort of mind comes up with that crazy shite?

frick you people are legit afraid the American collapse is eminent and could happen any day.

No one made your point for you.

Yep

That kind of reasoning is just beyond ridiculous.

In Allen and Dayton? Because while maybe you have that problem and have a need for that type of weapon, every motherfricker in the public domain does not.

And if you cannot acknowledge at least that than I consider you nutty and part of the overall problem.

You're right.

But they don't do that here. I wonder why?

No person in their right mind goes into a Walmart with a rifle, ear muffs and eye protection and starts mowing down people. I’m sorry if you don’t understand that.

I agree you have to be fricked in the head. But I think his point was that these guys aren't crazy in the legal sense of insanity. They aren't psychotic.

It doesn’t matter. As has been proven many times throughout history. You’re operating under the assumption that someone not being able to buy an “assault rifle” would stop them from inflicting as much or more damage.

The point is that banning AR’s literally would solve nothing. Nothing at all.

What are people defining as an "assault rifle"?

I don't give a frick what you call it.
Spin it how you want.

The mass shooter problem in America right now is weapons that are accurate over 20meters for the average adult male and can fire 15 or more rounds per interchangeable magazine as fast as the shooter can pull the trigger.

Mass shooters are indisputably and overwhelmingly choosing these particular weapons over 9mm pistols or machetes to efficiently and effectively murder random innocent people.

Change it.

Because guns are relatively easy to get and they usually play/watch violent video games, movies and want to replicate what they see. Going out in a blaze of glory with a gun is more appealing to them than a bomb or running over people with a truck.

You’re operating under the assumption that taking “scary assault rifles” away would reduce the number of people killed in a situation like this and that simply isn’t true.

I assume we are talking about the semi auto AK and AR style rifles which function exactly like a lot of deer rifles. They just generally hold more ammo.

Just terrible news this weekend. I am a supporter of the right to bear arms, however I wonder how it would be if it was one of our loved ones that was gunned down in one of these senseless act. Would it change our perception?
