You burned your alter to debate gun laws? What a waste.

You're about to be told those weren't assault weapons.

I know. Now people will just pick apart the definition and down vote me rather than come up with a logical reason as to why assault style weapons are needed by the general public... this forum is a bit of a cesspool at times. But i know what I am in for.

People like me? I am just a guy asking a sensible non-partisan question that no one is really answering....

Tell me again why you HAVE to have one? My sensible gun-owner friends don’t need one. No one is talking about taking all the guns away. But we should talk about what is needed and sensible. And what damage reduction strategies could most benefit our country and all of those we love.

Any weapon can be used for "assault", and any firearm other than single shots can be made to fire rapidly.

Did Timothy McVey use assault fertilizer, or was it an assault truck with fertilizer in it?

Shooter's sister and her boyfriend found dead nearby. Presumably he killed them then went on his spree.

Is a 9mm a weapon?

Would you call a 9mm an assault weapon?

Answer those questions and we can continue to have this discussion

It’s too late to take away guns, you’ll get the argument that a criminal wouldn’t turn his gun in anyway so why would I. I think a good place to start would be to look at magazine capacity.

The spokesman lauded the fact that they were able to put the guy down in less than a minute, which is commendable, but the flip side of that is the amount of damage he was able to inflict in that short amount of time.

Would he still have killed people with a smaller magazine? Absolutely. Would the damage have been that extensive? Probably not.

At this point as a society, we need to focus on small changes that would make an impact when our kids grow up. Making a sweeping gun ban change isn’t realistic

I have over 4K acres of land. On that 4K acres of land, I have thousands of invasive feral hogs. These thousands of invasive feral hogs are destroying my property, running off the local wildlife, and stripping my corn and food plots bare.

Invasive feral hogs tend to live in large groups.

When hunting said invasive feral hogs that cause millions in damages every year, it is prudent to be able to send as much lead downrange and hit as many invasive feral hogs as possible in rapid succession before they scatter and run like the vermin they are.

So.... retort?

I would think all your self proclaimed gun experts on this forum could connect the dots and see the similarities between all the weapons used in the cited attacks... guess you aren’t all as informed as you like to believe. There is no doesn’t seem to be a need for these in the general population. The dangers posed are greater than the benefits. But y’all continue to just try and cut hairs with your definitions rather than talk about solutions...
