I say make a 30 minute adjustment and call it quits. I think it’s a good compromise.
But that makes entirely too much sense.
You actually think you can get the whole wide world to agree to a 30 minute shift?!?

You think daylight savings time is world wide?
There are already time zones on a half hour in some parts of the world.

Well they can do what they want but it gets dark around 6:30 as of now anyway, so keeping DST will still effect the winter months.

Is it that hard to stand a few feet OFF the road.

Daylight savings during hunting season would be great. Extra hour to sleep off hangover

Here is an idea that I know a lot of people may not like, but what about creating smaller time zones that would fix the half hour gap in the extreme eastern and western portions of the nation's time zones. Those in between time zones will be a half hour off between the main time zones.
So for example driving west on I-10 from New Orleans to Jacksonville. You would pass through 2 time zones. Central -6 GMT, (New) Eastern/Central -5:30 GMT, and Eastern -5 GMT. Central would end at the Mississippi Alabama Line, Eastern/Central would end somewhere near I-75.
Going west instead of East, you would have the Central/Mountian Time Zone, just west of the Houston market.
I know with cell phones and GPS clocks this is much easier accomplish, but it make take some getting used to having areas a half hour off.

Same. DST fan boys don't realize it would still be dark at 8:15 a.m. if it were in place all year. Totally absurd.

Agreed. Prefer standard time over day light savings.
I prefer to hang outside during the twilight hours instead of the sun beating on me

I don’t give a frick if it’s dark in the morning. I don’t care if it’s dark till 10AM. I need sunlight after work. I have shite I do outside after work.

City people and their "work days."

I think it is just fine the way it is. It is daylight later in the spring and summer so I don't have to mow on the weekends. Who wants to be outside after work when its 35 degrees outside. leave it alone.

I would imagine the number of people who don’t want to be woken from a dead sleep by their alarms in pitch darkness the majority of mornings would outnumber the people who desperately need to get things done outside in the evenings year-round and also don’t have lighting.
But hey, I could be wrong

Leaving work in the dark sucks. Keep DST year round.

It sucks waiting until the weekend to enjoy sunlight on your free time away from work.

"I wish it wasn't dark after work."
"Why don't you come in at 7 and leave at 4."
"No goddammit, all clocks need to change!"
