Definitely worth letting a minimum wage earner raise your 5 month old

$1600 per month for a single child? or is that for 3 kids?

one kid and that was a shitty daycare.

1-benefits. My wife gets a great rate on health insurance through her job, so it makes a lot of sense for her to work and cover her + our two children on her policy. Although the cashflow is not much better than a wash, the health insurance helps the case a bunch.

Have great healthcare through my care. It cost me $200 to add my wife and kid added to my plan

but if I had to spend every day taking care of them all day long

same here

With our first two my wife still worked. At least for a little while. She quit her full time job when the second was a little over a year old and started part time work a few months later. We put him in a half day program a few days a week.

Now our third is almost two and she’s working about 25 hours a week and he goes to the half day program every day. I can definitely tell a difference between my oldest and the middle child. Oldest was more social and well developed because she went to full time daycare for almost 5 years before starting school. The second one was home all day a few days a week and only got out of the house the few times he went for a half day.

Depending on the daycare and if they are educationally based it can be a good thing. Plus the mental health of your wife is important. If she wants to work then by all means she should. Mine liked the break from full time to part time. It’s only recently now that both the oldest kids are in school that she increased her hours working.

Isn’t that the job of a Mom? How many 5 month olds aren’t needy?

our kid had an extreme case of colic and she had no family for help and support. Her family is in Lebanon.

You get what you pay for.
We talking wives or daycare here?

So now it's just negotiating the price of selling children. To have someone take them off your hands part-time costs more than what you receive on the black market to sell them outright btw.

Damn, I guess I can't recall my children being there before the age of 2-3. What did it go down to for you once you're kid(s) was/were older though?

It's hard to remember. It did drop a little when she turned 2 but then we had annual price increases too.

damn. that changes things a bit...I definitely wouldn't leave my child somewhere I consider "shitty", especially not for $1600/month!

If I had a preference, I’d have the baby stay home the first year. Also you must live in a big city because 1600/month is pretty expensive. It runs anywhere from 800-1200 a month in New Orleans.

Get rid of the pool boy and her decision to go back to work will be easier.

Wow glad I didn't make a mistake like that with a mate, my wife works from home and wouldn't dream of dumping her baby off to some cretins
