Didn't Portnoy bust his arse early on, to be able to work from home in Miami half the year to avoid taxes?

The grueling grind of reviewing a couple bites of cheese pizza will be written about for centuries after he's gone

This is the same clown who was crying about his vote because the stock market dipped last week.

Maybe he should STFU and just do his yuck monkey routine.

Who built the company from scratch to the point where they were able to hire a quality CEO?

Im just impressed that we've gotten to the point where we distinguish Gen Z from Millenials. Took long enough.

Dave was rich AF before Erica

In regards to the actual thread, he basically only hires half retarded rich kids from the northeast because they can afford to do an internship for nothing. At least that’s how it used to be.

One thing I've found that does seem more prevalent with "Gen Z" is the drive to be an "influencer" over a more traditional career path. When I was growing up, (Gen X) I think my age group had the same apathy toward previous career paths, but still recognized the value of a sure paycheck. I've heard a number of "Z's" discuss a career path built more around themselves as an internet brand, whether that's some YouTube show, podcast, work-at-home skill for sale or the like.

AI is going to wreck that world, in particular.

He's never going to frick you dude.

Sorry I'm not that impressed with a guy that reviews pizza for a living for the blog site he created.

He's an entertainer. I don't value those people very highly.

It's hard to compare the young professionals of the generation to the type of person who applies to work at an internet content company like barstool.

It's a self selecting sample.

I see what you are saying and if he was just starting his company, I'd agree but he has older employees who have been with the company for a long time and he has seen the work ethic of the guys that jumped on board when the company was nothing compared to the "freeloaders" that are joining up now.

To me the real distinction is that the older employees were the self motivated type that could cut it at an underfunded upstart with that barely knew what they were doing to a group of kids joining an established media company with a clear (or at least clearer) idea of what they are as a company.

I think previously his company attracted hard workers and now that it is successful, it attracts freeloaders.

I thought he first went mainstream when ESPN canceled Barstool Van Talk after one episode. It was due to the Me too Movement and Sam Ponder pitching a fit about Dave's personality of being a sexist.

I have somewhat outgrown much of barstool but I always found it funny that I enjoyed the content so long as Dave wasn't featured. I find him insufferable and think he ruins everything he is in.

You just lost the argument. You have nothing left to counter with and go with the ole he's not gonna frick you comment. I don't give a shite about Dave, I only give a shite about calling out retarded comments like the ones you presented.

I don't take any issue with anyone NOT liking Dave. I don't like him myself but to act like he didn't work hard to get his company where it is would be a lie.

Family money?

The first big outside investment into barstool came from chernin, which paid 5-7 million for a 51% stake.

That's not nothing, but it's not like portnoy himself pocketed all of that.

My counter to that is how many Gen Xers/Xennials/older Millennials are in MLM schemes. I don’t think it’s exclusive to Zs. It just looks different in its platform.

The pizza thing is like a minor project of his. It has turned into his most popular content that he personally makes but people need to stop acting like Dave started a pizza review company and fell arse backwards into a media company.

He was instrumental in paying Bryce Underwood to go to Michigan and bragged about it on social media. I’ll never be a fan of his. Every generation thinks the next generation is lazier.
