Facebook wasn't even born yet. Lol.

I haven’t heard any compelling arguments against the idea of allowing 20% tint on the sides and back of cars in a hot weather state. In fact, it seems quite reasonable to me.
Furthermore, I believe it should not be considered an offense worthy of being pulled over for. If a jackass runs a red light, gets pulled over, AND has 5% then write them up.

As was already stated, a good ceramic tint does the job regardless of how dark/light it is

That's great. Doesn't answer the question but great anyway.

One time, on a hot summer day, I got it in my head that as long as you stayed under the legal limit, it was fine to have a beer or two while driving home from work.
The looks from fellow drivers as we were stuck in traffic and I swigged on my bottled Budweiser like it was legal, was worth the price of admission.
Luckily, I came to my senses after a couple days and I didnt get a DUI.

Helps keep the interior of the unit cool for the electronics. Also prevents people from.looking in and seeing the computer screen which displays private info and by law has to be shielded from.public view. Also allows weapons and other gear to be shielded from public view. Thiefs steal from everyone, police included.
Personally I don't care about private vehicles having dark tint. Lousiana law dictates the driver/passenger exit the vehicle if told to do so.

I'm leaning to the side that thinks the law is outdated and needs to be replaced.
Tinted window laws aren’t just for officer safety. They’re also so cars behind you can see through enough to see the brake lights of cars ahead of you.
I said this in a thread a couple of years ago and Jones wanted to fight me over it. Then one day he realized this while driving and thought “frick, that chode was right.”

All the other hot-weather states are wrong and we're right.
Yay us...

I really don’t care about a cop feeling safe. If they wanted to feel safe, they should take another job. My tint isn’t hurting them.
Cops are supposed to be on the side of the good guys. When they harass the good guys for piddly shite like window tint, they aren’t on my side. frick em.
Go protect and serve. Go after bad guys. Leave everybody else alone.

I could buy into that. I try to drive two or three cars ahead to anticipate what may happen

You can block the UV and heat with a shade of tint that is virtually clear.

I have had illegal tint back in college. I got a few tint tickets during that time. I had a hiatus but have gone back to it for the past ten years. During this second round, I have YET to get a ticket including after I have been pulled over for a moving violation.
I only do 70% on the windshield so I can get the 360 ceramic shield.
Sides and back are darker for privacy, prevention of theft, and a cozy back seat for the children.
Whenever I get pulled over, I immediately roll all windows down and put my hands on the steering wheel. No issues.

Why do you need to see more than the brake lights directly in front of you?

That's why the rest of us have it too.
