65 degrees, bluebird skies and no mosquitos today. The No See-ums are bad though.

Tough call for me between 95+ degrees and terrible No See-Ums (I get terrible reactions). I'll go with No See-ums though because when it gets this hot even some ACs can't keep up and it's even hot inside.

I'd be a little more generous, I'd say even up to about 70-75 at hottest. But not constantly, maybe 2 or 3 times a week.

I'm with you on the mid to late 60s on other days. Either way, it beats that 100+ & high humidity that I dealt with for so long.

I have a group of guys building a fence in my back yard. They keep looking at the pool. It's just a matter of time and I don't blame them one bit.

Sleeves and jeans and I don't get bit too badly. They're a pest but I don't have terrible reactions to them.

They're kinda hanging out by the water and higher altitudes this summer.

I’m in Orange and just slightly warmer at 81. Spent last week in Houston at a heat index of 110.

My two dogs thought they wanted to go outside and chase squirrels so I let them out.

They lasted 30 minutes begging to come back inside.

google summer mosquitoes + Alaska

This is what I found.

Alaska has 35 species of mosquito, and all but a few will be more than happy to nibble on humans. But mosquitoes are only really an issue for Alaska visitors from the second week in June to the last week in July, and even then, they're not nearly as bad as myth would have it.

Maybe they are trying to downplay it for tourism?

Mosquitos are hell in the Tundra of the north slope. Along coastal areas they really aren't bad at all.

Few people venture up to the slope or around tundra.

I don't want to argue about climate change but a humid 95 degree day in South Louisiana in August isn't exactly unusual
