So long as news stations are doing stories about this inanity, people will continue to do it. It's their 15 minutes of fame/infamy.
If nobody would talk about it or pay any attention to it, MANY wouldn't do it. It stopped becoming about the discounts long, long ago.

I know several women down South who love black Friday shopping. It's a big adrenaline rush for them. I don't get it.
